I wasn't sure where to post this... I'm new to this side of lioden.
But for the first time I made one of my sketches into a digital art form, and I know it's probably not super amazing it's my first after-all. I'm looking for feedback that I can use to improve my artwork. So without further ado, meet

Second attempt:
Name- Chase?:

chase.png

First attempt-
Chomps:
changed after given tips
Chomps.png

So Chomps is a species/breed of canine that I've created that I've called Shaggy Bear Terrier (?) the name may change not sure, it was first called an Alien dog lol. But I would love to continue making my other Shaggy Bear Terriers into digital arts, but before I do that I would like to get feedback on the first one.

Also please note I do not have access to a drawing tablet (as much as I'd like one) ;-; I did this with the good ol' laptop mouse pad.

If I were to sell these would you buy one/them and how much would you pay?

Ah, it's really good, especially for a first try! <3

Some small tips that helped me when I first started
- Dont give up on getting a tablet in the future C: It took nearly a year, but I was able to save up for mine!
- It's always fun to give art a little shading/highlighting (most people put black, then adjust the opacity as shading, then the same only with white for luminosity/shading
- Depending on what program you use, always try your best to center the art, with as little transparent background excess as possible. It tends to make people more likely to buy your art, as it'll fit in forum signatures and profiles better that way

I hope you continue to draw! C:

The little dear is adorable, I think having the Shaggy Bear Terrier be their base breed then have variations of it like: The red ridge Shaggy Bear Terrier, Giant Shaggy Bear Terrier, toy Shaggy Bear Terrier, ect.

@Wynter: ^^ It's not so much getting the tablet it's just my usb ports don't work on my laptop... and I'm not sure of any other way to connect a tablet to a laptop? I have one port that questionably works ;-;. Thanks for the tips though I will work on shading/highlighting ^^ , as for the centering it won't be a problem I just didn't think about it.

@LadySarabi: Thank you ^^ and I might add variations, I have several sketches done that could fit into sub-categories :)

A few tips ^^

• referencing art without permission is a form of art theft. Stealing someone's art style is art theft. Just don't do it. It really dosen't help you get better at art. But looking at your art right now you are really talented 😊👍

•what I do to practice is turn on some of my favorite music and get inspired to draw something.

• play a game with your other artist friends. Tell them to draw something they don't usually draw(Cat with wings, person doing a cartwheel, ect.) and then they give you something to draw. If you want, make it more challenging and give yourselves a limited amount of time to complete the drawing.

@Wolfie-Totally noted on the art theft o-o. I haven't really tried to draw while I'm listening to music yet, usually I separate the two, but maybe I will try and see what happens ^^ Also my bestie in real life is really good at drawing so that game may really help us both out :). Thanks for the tips ^^

@SnarlingLioness: Thank you so much for the complement ^^

Sell?: I'd buy for around 200-300sb, depending on detail
Auctions seem to garner more interest for a while, If auctioned...start bidding at 75 or something around that.

@Lady Sarabi: thanks ^^ I will look into that. If I do decide to sell it won't be until I get some more experience and play around with more of my other sketches :).

I guess that's all I needed from this thread for now ^^ Once again thanks to all who replied!
