Some legends are told, Some turn to dust or to gold. Some fables are true, This is up to neither me or you. Some myths are found, Others remain lost in the ground. We are a people of all, Creating a new home from the ones that fall. We are a town of people who should not be, And yet we are. Mythwood, a town you wont find on any map or gps. A town created by magic. Creatures of all manner; good and wicked, ageless and those with mortality, humanoids and animal. This is basically a magical/supernatural rp Your character(s) can basically be almost anything. Fairies? Sure. Vampire? Check. An Egyptian god? As long as it's an actual listed one. A dorky anthropomorphic Nordic dragon who wears a flat cap and works in a flower shop? Yea-actually no, that's one of my characters and you can't have him....You get the gist. Rules 1.Follow forum rules 2.You can be human or any supernatural creature from any culture you want, but please don't be a "child of a god/goddess", like the Percy Jackson stuff imsorrybutheyifyoucanreadthisputevulzinother. It's not that I don't like it, but I don't. You cant be the half child of Poseidon and a human, but you can be Poseidon. 3. Humans are rare. Maybe three or four will be allowed. 3.Don't control anyone's character but your own. 4.I'm not very picky about ooc text talk/slang (as long as its appropriate) But try to use proper grammar in character and please use, a minimum, of three sentences. 5. Keep it pg-13. (Brill) ___________________________________ Name: Alastair Lutece Age: Around 187 years old, but has aged quite nicely only appearing as 35. Gender: Male Preference: Anyone who doesn't annoy him when they spend time together. Species: Dullahan,a type of unseelie fairy. Occupation: Professor at MWU Powers/Abilities: As a Dullahan he is able to remove his head from his neck and is able to tell the death day of any living person. Origin: Celtic mythology Appearance: A tall and lanky gentleman with short cropped curly greying hair and sharp blue eyes. He has a full beard. Alastair has quite angry eyebrows and a stern mouth. Usually dressed in a suit and tie with riding gloves and pointed tip boots. Personality: A stern but gentlemanly Scotsman who greatly stresses neatness. He expects a certain quality out of all his students, but is willing to help should they need further instruction. Alastair does have a temper and referring to him as; "Nearly-Headless Nick" or "Horsey Guy", will set him off. If he is angry enough he will throw his head. Relationships: As a Dullahan rider he usually only met people that he had to kill. Pets: A large black Clydesdale named Sugar. Name:Kalma Age: Looks about 25 but is immortal and has been around for quite a long time. Gender: Female Preference: Male Species: Goddess Occupation: Florist and owner of "GrimRose Flower Shop" Powers/Abilities: Can tell when someone is sick or when they will die by a specific oder only she is able to smell. Origin: The Finnish goddess of death and decay Appearance: A thin and petite young lady with dark grey hair and sightless, murky, blue eyes. Kalma has rosy pigmented skin, showing a bit of sun that she has gained working as a florist. Her face is very angular and her cheekbones are very prominent, she has a rounded button nose. Personality: Even though she is a goddess of death, Kalma is very cheerful and is a great lover of "pretty things". Relationships: Her father is Tuoni and her mother Tuonetar. Kalma may also have several sisters, Kipu-Tyttö, Kivutar, Loviatar, and Vammatar, all of whom live in the Finnish underworld realm of Tuonela. Accompanied and protected by Surma. Pets: Surma probably counts as one. Name: Surma Age: Unknown. They look like a dog in all forms so it's impossible to tell Gender: Agender. Technically speaking though, they have no form of genitalia. At all. Preference: None Species: A large dog with a snake-tail Occupation: Protector of Kalma. Powers/Abilities: Can tell if a person will die by sudden or violent means. If the snake tail bites a person, they can be turned to stone. Origin: A character in the Finnish folklore of Kalevala. Appearance: An extremely large black dog with deep crimson eyes. Their tail forms into a black viper. Personality: Very gruff and uncaring towards people that are not Kalma. They will be extremely aggressive towards anyone who threatens their ward. Relationships: Protector of Kalma. Name: Elsker Age: 245 years Gender: Male Preference: Male Species: Dragon Occupation: Florist at "GrimRose Flower Shop" Powers/Abilities: Is able to take both feral and anthropomorphic dragon forms. Flight and fire breathing. Origin: Nordic/Scandinavian Appearance: A large navy blue dragon with silver tipped scales, darker blue tri-horns and golden eyes. In anthropomorphic form he often wears a green flat cap t-shirts and a long jacket. Personality: Extremely shy and timid. He is usually unable to look people in the eye. He loves flowers and plants. He also has a moderate case of kleptomania, in which he steals stuff that is particully shinny. Sorta, I'm putting together more examples. But no children of the gods thing, like Percy Jackson. No offence to people who like that whole thing, I just don't like it/it seems too overused. And humans will be rare. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I was to referring to like in the Percy Jackson book series. Not like, for example, Loki is the father of Hel, the wolf Fenrir, and the world serpent Jörmungandr. Loki is the mother Sleipnir. Like if the character is an honest to goodness in that culture's mythology stated that they are related to a certain god or goddess in any way, that still stands. Getting a real Fables/The Wolf Among Us vibe from this, and I love it already. (though I doubt this will be nearly as dark haha!) Name: Aleksander Blake (Aleks or Alex for short) Age: Appears to be in his late 20s Gender: Male Preference: Pansexual & Demiromantic Species: Black dragon Occupation: Black market dealer of forbidden magics and illegal "favors" Powers/Abilities: Human- Can start very small fires in hands (just enough to light a cigarette or a fireplace), can shift back into dragon form, anything else requires a scroll to be written with the spell on it Dragon- Fire breath, various dark magic spells (Usually too much work to use still), shapeshifting into a human form Origin: Eastern Europe Appearance: Human- A tall man of average build. He has somewhat long messy hair and blue eyes, they turn bright green on occasion when the illusion of being human wears (moments of high emotion). He has very small black nubs of horns on his head that are hidden by his hair most of the time. 90% of the time he can be found either wearing a long black coat or a dress shirt and pants. A small green pendant of a dragon's eye hangs from his neck, helping him to sustain a human form. Dragon- About 4 stories tall and covered in shining black scales. His head is adorned by large black spines and his eyes are a piercing acidic green. Large wings protrude from his back, made of a much softer scaleless, leathery skin. Personality: Cold and distant, he's seen a lot in his life and honestly just wants to be left alone. However, he's not willing to sell off his hoard just to try to make it in this day and age, so he reluctantly works for his new home... which brings him into reluctant contact with other beings. Though he CAN be polite and even charming at times, he comes off as a very grumpy old dragon most of the time. Despite this, it shouldn't be taken too seriously. Though he pushes others away, he's actually grateful for the break in loneliness that living in his previous lair came with. Relationships: Wendy North (Contact and reluctant friend, also room mate) Pets: A few fish in his small apartment Other: Codeword is evulz I think And with that out of the way, I'd like to ask about a second character before I write her up. May I play a Wendigo that takes up a less beast-like form? Had to ask since a human flesh craving weirdo.... yeah I figured it would be better to ask first. Edit: I'll just write her up and you can veto it if you don't feel like it would fit. Name: Wendy North Age: Appears to be in her late teens, maybe early 20s (though her appearance looks very sickly) Gender: Female Preference: Bisexual (leaning towards women), Homoromantic Species: Wendigo Occupation: Fence for illegal items, otherwise homeless and jobless (lives in Alex's apartment when not wandering) Powers/Abilities: When not suppressing it actively, the air around her chills to below freezing and warms up slowly as you get farther away. It has about a 3 foot radius. She has no need to drink anything, but has an insatiable hunger for human (or humanoid) flesh. (I promise personally not to kill or eat any player characters without their consent to do so) Origin: The legend of the Wendigo spawns from folk lore of people indigenous to the great lakes and just above. Wendy claims she's from Canada and sports a slight accent. Appearance: Note: The only way she appears human is from a spell taught to her by Alex. If she loses her grip on that (in high emotion situations) or doesn't redo the spell every day, she reverts to beast form. Human- A VERY tall woman (6'7"). She has worn looking tired eyes and sickly pale skin. Her body looks emaciated and starving. Though she hides that by wearing large sweaters all of the time, she still looks as if she could break at any second and seems to be on the edge of death. In human form, this is true and she can't perform very physically demanding tasks. She is constantly cold and shivers quite a lot. It's obvious that this form hurts her and she would rather not be masquerading like this, but it's the only way she's getting more of her...erm... favorite treat. (without getting shot at and killed least) Beast- A 15 foot behemoth of a creature. It has ashen grey skin stretched taut over a nearly skeletal frame of a starving beast. Torn bits of skin reveal hidden muscle and ribs to the air easily. It's head is that of a stag's skull with an eerie light breaking out of the deep pits that are it's eyes. It barely retains the level of control it had in human form and can only think of it's next meal. Despite looking like a shambling corpse, it can move at astounding speed and it's sheer size and weight makes up for any lack in muscle. In this form, the cold effect that Wendy normally has is tripled in radius, turning the area around it basically into a freezer. Personality: Most would describe Wendy as either "depressing" or "plain creepy". She doesn't get out much during the day, doing most of her work at night and avoiding the people up in the day. In reality though, she's actually quite social. As soon as you've made it clear to her that you aren't on the menu then she's quite open and friendly. She treats everybody pretty casually and though she can come off as rude, she really does care about those she deems worthy of her. Still though, her true nature makes sure that the first thing she thinks about when meeting someone else is "Are they edible?"
