This is kinda silly, huh? But it's come down to it! I've been sitting around trying to decide how to make an art/adoptables thread for literally weeks with little progress, and I'm sick of it. So, instead of trying to decide what the Lioden market wants, I'll just ask! For the most part I'd like to do a breedable type adoptable, one that's not too complicated but fun and exciting for people to own and play with! There are a lot of awesome threads here for them, so I want to do something that stands out. Post here and let me know what you'd like to see! Random silly monsters? Something amphibian/insect/reptilian/avian/mammalian/a mix? Fantastical or realistic, or somewhere comfortable inbetween? What kind of features would you like in a breedable adoptable? Games, genetics, character traits, maybe even an exclusive roleplay for those who join in? The only things off the table are yet another dog/cat/lion, because others have done that a lot and are quite better than me! Feel free to suggest what you'd like to see, or PM me if there's a huge laundry list! I'll take every suggestion into account before I go ahead and make the pets, so unless I've changed this post to say 'DONE', tell me! Of course, no adoptable is really worth it unless the art is nice, right? Well, I hope that my art will count as up to par with you guys, but I won't leave it to doubt! The below links are all examples of my art, so you can get a feel of what the final product will look like~ A... fox... thing? This is closest to what the adoptable art will look like! (And maybe I'll sell this design too!) One of my characters! If you like this messier lineart, let me know! Some dinosaurs I drew for an article I wrote! Some monsters may be really fun, but also more complicated. But breeding really different creatures together may do interesting mixes, like, the body shape of one with the head shape of the others, mixes of features, horns, feathers, markings, colors etc.... It may be really fun! I also really like the tiny birds you did, but I'm not sure many people are interested into birds. 0 players like this post! Like? |

@Lily- Thank you~ I really love dinosaurs, they're a bit of a passion for me. @Seiden- I would be open to mixing and matching certain features, but I'm not too sure about whole huge body shapes constantly changing. The art load would be a bit big then, and I think I'd produce them too slowly. As a basis for the species a sort of mismatched head and body would be interesting, though! Also, thanks XD and I know what you mean. Not sure why, I love dinosaurs and birds in general, though I tend to draw them with realistic features that some folks don't like. 0 players like this post! Well currently I'm trying to start up my own adoptable species but sadly I suck at art but I'd be willing to work with you with my species I want to start up if you could draw the lines for them and we can do. It would be lots of work if they're all different indeed..... Unless you just do separate pieces on separate layers.... Like, I did some dog lineart, the body is the same but I can easily change the tail and the head. Then you may just do some different bodies, heads, tails etc, and interchange them. It would still be a lot of work, but it would make your adoptables unique and the breeding really interesting. But if that's too much work, just go with some unique original specie. Like... Not the classic wolf with minor changes, but something that is REALLY unique and doesn't look like a wolf or cat at all. Maybe some hooved creature with an head that is neither feline or canine. They may have different horns (horns are really common but it looks like people love them). Or maybe an original specie of dinosaur! Feathery or not. Dinosaurs are awesome as well. I may help if you're willing to do this with someone else. I'm bad with linearts but I'm rather good at colouring and I love to design species or coat patterns, and I love to play with genetics as well (actually studying genetic at the university). 0 players like this post! @Seiden- You know, I'll keep that in mind. I'm not sure I'd do FULL mix and match, but I hadn't really thought about putting multiple heads on and I do think it'd be doable. Depending on the idea behind them, that could be pretty cool and give a single lineart a bit more life over time. As for other ideas I'd been thinking about making something marsupial or possibly based in prehistory, even if it's still a mammal. We'll have to see! To both you and Theo x Sora though, I'm not really looking to do a collab with anyone right now. I'm notoriously bad at working with others longterm, so for now I'd rather just deal with my own ideas and possibly consider collaboration in the future. If the idea becomes big and I need some help though, I may keep you in mind for then! 0 players like this post! Like? |

Prehistoric adoptables would be nice, especially if they were somewhat realistic o3o The wolves with hooves/horns/wings/whatever else are quite boring and common like you said o3o Some Yi Qis with different plumages and stuff would be cool o3o (or archaeopteryx-inspired ones, hnngh x3) 0 players like this post! So prehistory is a go for you guys then X3 good thing, because I'm currently doodling some andrewsarchus inspired beasts at the moment. If I did dinosaurs, they would DEFINITELY feathery fellows, though what exact branch of feathery I chose would be up for debate. I'm pretty comfortable drawing them as well, I just worry that not as many people would be interested in a dinosaur that isn't a bald ugly monster like JP loves to display. 0 players like this post!
