 ^^Click for my DeviantArt! Hey guys! im looking to re-open my art shop again. and also basically re-making it. like a new start c: and i have improved A LOT since i first started. its amazing how much change has happened in a year. i first started doing Commissions LAST July! anyho~ back to the topic at hand.. I'm wondering what i should price these lil guys at c:       i might also do small animations. I'm still kinda new to them. they wont have much detail in the ways of movement, but here's some examples, (i honestly don't have many examples for these)   what i would love to know is what i should price these at c: (animations separate please) I would love some help on this, thank you so much in advance to anyone who does help~ ~*------------------------------------------------------------------------*~ Picture on the top of the thread: Tree-sap and Ocean. two characters in my comic. 1st picture: all characters belong to Lieutenant Stabby | IO | LdT | (#35974) 2nd picture: all characters belong to Theo x Sora (#50134) 3rd picture: commission for xencorex (#37405) 4th picture: art contest entry for Ash {muties} (#47451) 5th picture: fun doodle i did for myself 8) character belongs to me. 6th picture: Toothless commission for Jet [CCS] [HSC] [CBP] (#30500) 7th picture: Character in my Comic, Tree-sap 8th picture: effects practice, character belongs to me.  0 players like this post! for a full piece at LEAST 5gb up to 10 gb? for smaller less detailed pics 500sb-1gb? more detailed pic with no bg 1gb-3gb? small animations 1gb-2gb for like 2 frames and go up from there I would say more but the market is bad 0 players like this post! I would say 15GB for the ones that are highly detailed(full background and such) 5GB for single, shaded things, 1-2GB for non-detailed cartoons. The animated could go for 7GB because it is animated. The ones with more "glow" i would put around 6-7GB as well, neat technique! I've found that a lot of people just won't pay it, even if they say that it's worth that. While some people say "you shouldn't under price because it's not worth the work", i've found that the only way to get commissions is to lower the prices to SB pricing... however your style is probably more preferred then mine. So you may get away with proper pricing. 0 players like this post! Like? |

@Kimi, that seems reasonable c: thanks Kimi!! :D and yea the market is pretty weird right now :L @Burning lion, these are quite helpful c: even though i think 15gb is a tad high, it gives me an idea on where i should set the prices~ i hear ya on the Sb prices. that's what i used to price all my art at :L honestly i doubt I'd "get away" with it ^^ but that's just me. thank you both c: <3 i had no idea that people would say my art is worth so much .3. .//hides// 0 players like this post! This isn't meant to discourage at all. People told me my art was worth GB too. I was astonished! and your style is more sought after, but it seemed after they told me it was worth GB, they didn't want to pay it 0 players like this post! Like? |

@Burning_lion, sadly that's common. but most people cant afford the art they say is worth Gb. and those who can, wont most of the time. (some. not all) 0 players like this post! Like? |

It's very cute c: Honestly, at the moment the market is bad, and to be honest...yeah, people generally won't pay what it's worth. You can see what my art was priced at here (due to time constraints, I've stopped doing commissions): http://www.lioden.com/topic.php?id=45606540000 So....yeah. With those prices I actually had a steady stream of work, I'd say about one or two commissions a week? I could've raised my prices, but at that time I had a lot of time on my hands. What's your art worth? Probably more than people are willing to pay. I'd say start out at around 2GB/2400SB for a plain, full body pixel and double that for an animation of the bouncy type. 0 players like this post! Like? |
