In Dinad, all used to be calm. A kingdom of shape-shifters, guarded by magic, rested peacefully, cradled in a forest surrounded by mountains on all sides. They were ruled by the royal family, the Petros. Their beautiful queen Naida kept everything just and served her people with kindness. During the final years of her reign there grew reports of a strange gathering of shifters in the woods surrounding the kingdom. No one took much notice of it until the queen suddenly fell ill and died.

With none of her children old enough to rule, this left her husband, Claus, in charge. With an old man taking the throne with no preparation this left Dinad weak. On the second day of Claus’ reign there was a raid in the kingdom. Countless carnivores, from wolves to birds of prey, poured from the woods and into the dirt roads of Dinad.

While many lives were lost in the raid, the royal guard was able to capture their leader: a young man named Giles. Trapped in the dungeon, he spits threats of his people planning on taking the kingdom. Within the month, he states, the people of Dinad will bow to the name Markos. The guards take it as nothing more than the dreams of a small gang, but they could not be more wrong.

Deep in the woods lives a clan of thieves, rebels, and criminals. Cast away by Dinad and fueled by vengeance, they spend their days training and plotting. Lead by Ophelia Markos, she plans on taking her people all the way to the castle’s throne room. With her army of soldiers and assassins, there really isn’t anything to stop her from achieving her goal.
