What would you do if food wasn't within reach anymore? If suddenly, you were on your own, in an unknown world, filled with unfamiliar things? 

The year is forgotten. Left in the dust of the past to quickly fade from human memory. Instead, numbers are now used to tally days. Days survived.

It was another world war that finally brought the Earth trembling and to its knees. Humans waged war with each other, and not only did they have to face the consequences of their naivety and selfishness in the end, but so did every other living being. 

In the end, it was all of us who had to pay the ultimate price for the humans' sins. 

Fortunately, many died instantly. A large portion of those who didn't die off right away, starved to death, or succumbed to illness or injury. These days, even a slight cold could prove fatal for not just one being, but for everyone who comes into contact with them. 

Those who refused to crawl into Death's maw willingly, found themselves facing a battle greater than they have ever witnessed. Not only was Earth changing into a barren cruel beast, but they themselves were changing into what humans use to look at and call monsters.

Neurotica, Zombie, this "disease", and the things infected, who are called Kiseki, go by many names. It is assumed that it is somehow related to the radiation that is slowly strangling the planet, but that hasn't been proven, and quite possibly will never be.

Neurotica may be passed on by simple touch. The first stage of Neurotica is the inability to sleep. The one infected will become increasingly paranoid and may become aggressive. The second stage they start developing lesions on their skin. It is not known how or why, but it has been observed these lesions heal at a later stage for a very select few of the Kiseki. These special Kiseki often mutate in some way, and become unrecognizable and seperate from the species they had belonged to when they were unaffected. That's all we know about them. We do not know if they are able to communicate or think. We know nothing.

It seemed hopeless. But then we discovered the Bond. For some reason, surviving wolves and humans are able to connect with each other on a level no one has ever experienced before. Not only that, but a pair may communicate with each other, yet interestingly enough, a human is not able to talk to another human's wolf companion, and vice versa. Suddenly hope was born again, for a wolf that is able to bond, is mutated in some shape or form, and is immune to Neurotica. We think they may already carry the disease, but it for some reason affected them differently, than it did with other species. 

More hope was born and spread when a human banded a group of survivors together and created a large domed city. This city was everything that people dreamed of. Food, clean water, houses, and most of all, safety. Survivors flocked to this domed city, named Altaraz in hopes of starting a new life. However, only the healthy were permitted in, and the rest were turned away. 

The ones turned away hate the domed city and seek to destroy it. But that's a whole different story better saved for later.

The ones allowed in have set rules to follow. But that is better explained in the next post...
