As I walk through the streets of Republic City along side Vela, Homaru, Ri and my panther I spot a little kid crying to his mother pointing at something.

"Awe look at that cutie, reminds me of myself when I was young." Yea young and annoying, you can never separate those traits I thought to myself. I feel Kuthu nudging my hand, now on my left side, looking up at me with his brilliant green eyes. I look over to my friends and they look back at me.

I blinked as me and Yara stared at the child and it's parent (Mom), my heart aching as i thought of my mother. Then i noticed the child was pointing at something.

"What is that child pointing at..." That was the question that must of been popping up in everyone's mind by now, but since WE didn't know what was going on, it wasn't really our business. Now was it.

I look over and squint, the sun glaring in my eyes. "Uh well the child seems undoubtedly happy...I bet she wants something bought."

Kuthu walks ahead and turns around facing us sitting down and panting like a puppy...oh now what do you want.

I gave a small smile to the child, giving a small chuckle as I thought of my own son, and gave a small scratch to Kuthu as the panther passed by me before it went to its master's side. Though, Rinah spoke my own question, but the sun was unfortunately in that direction.

"Would be a bit strange at ask what a random child is pointing at," I gave a well-natured chuckle at that.

The city was still rather alarming to me, so much more noise and activity than the sleepy mountain village I came from. Just looking at all the street vendors, shop widows displaying all sorts of new items, and people going about made me feel exhausted,

Well, I did want to get Ari some food, the giant canyon crawler was much too big to be on the streets and was safely at the temple, probably being bothered by my son. At least she was getting exercise, with all this Avatar training, I really couldn't give her attention other than some grooming and petting.

"Do you two happen to know where the butcher is? Or at least where we could get something to eat. I think Kuthu would love a nice steak, and Ari deserves a treat."

I frowned. So what if i was really curious of what the kid was pointing at, but Homura did have a point. I looked in the direction the kid was pointing at, and sure enough the sun was there.

I let out a huff of boredom and sighed "I don't remember where the butcher's shop is exactly, but the last time i went to the butcher, i think me and Yara headed a little west?" I said as i looked at the large Polar Bear Dog, whose ears perked up with interest when i said 'Butcher'. "She still remembers when she almost destroyed the shop when she tried to eat the meat, so i think they won't be happy to see us.... or, HER exactly." I muttered as i glared at the dog, who of course, began to droll and attempt to lick my face.

Kuthu jumps up and down and licks my face. Ok ok let's go to the butchers then.

I suppressed a snort of laughter. "Really? Looking at the sun? I suppose firebenders are naturally attracted to it, since it is so... bright." I tilted my head, almost looking straight into the object in question. I was going to have to learn firebending eventually.

I entertained myself with what firebending would entail as we threaded through the crowds to head west, as Rinah suggested. And perhaps we wouldn't run into the shop Yara ransacked, no matter how much the polar bear dog seemed to like the idea.

I felt bad for the avatar...I was just sitting here with fire bending mastered and she hasn't even started.

"Hey I can help you train, I love sparing." I offer creating a little flame in my palm. "I still have to learn how to bend lightning."

I was sitting on a lone bench with my fists shoved into my uniform jacket's pockets at the edge of the park awaiting orders when I felt a prod at my right hip. Looking down, I saw Jung, my elephant rat companion, angrily jabbing at me with a curled trunk. He usually remained in one of my pockets at all times, so I figured something was up.
"What?" I asked, as if he could answer. In response, Jung leaned back on his hind legs and irritably trumpet-squeaked at me. Assuming he just wanted attention, I pulled my right hand out of my pocket and reached over to give him a scratch on the head. However, before my fingers could graze his scalp Jung made an angry noise and jumped up to lash out at my hand. Quickly, I pulled my hand back, but unfortunately the bugger just barely nicked my palm and a thin red line was forming. Luckily, he didn't break the skin.
"Ow," I apathetically stated, more bitter about the stinging feeling than the fact that my pet scratched me.If he doesn't need attention then he must be hungry, I concluded.
Turning my wrist over, I went to check the time. I should have gotten a signal twenty minutes ago, I noted. It was odd, but not odd enough to raise alarm. Still, an outpost wasn't too far away--just a block or two--I could quickly check what was the cause for the delay. I hefted myself off the bench, smoothed down my uniform jacket and pants, and held down my hand for Jung to climb onto.
"There's a sandwich shop on the way back," I explained. Hearing the mention of food, my companion eagerly hopped onto my hand, climbed up my arm, and found his way back down into one of my pockets.

Velvela "Lupita" Akimaru (( Vela )) | Female - 18 - Earth bender | Location: Republic City ->Local streets | Mentions: Rinah + Homura + Ale

Vela wasn't too fond of large crowds, the Earth Kingdom's walls made sure of that. She had grown up around too many people in too many streets with too many problems. Her family was middle class and usually kept themselves afloat financially through training animals and raising plants, which was what Vela was truly good with aside from Earth bending. In fact, her own training was why she now had her companion, her puma Leona.
Straying from the small group she had met up with due to shared interests and a chance meeting, Vela hummed a small tune to herself. She didn't pay much attention to the child, and was focusing more on the differences between ehr home kingdom and republic city. While all the nations were at peace for the time being, it still amazed her to find so many different people in one place.
Leona stayed quiet, padding beside Vela with little care. The Earth kingdom was busier than this and did little to effect her. She was vain, and it showed with how she walked, held her head, and glared in the direction of the companions who acted without consequence. There was no way she was going to jump around or tackle someone, although a growl or snarl wasn't below Leona.
"What business are we on in the first place? Can't we just go to the park or back to the island?" Vela suggested, grumbling at the lack of flora in the area. It was all rock streets, and her bare feet were usually comforted with that alone; however, the bender had worn sandals since the activity below her usually gave her a headache.

I walk down the hallway in an empty home on the edge of the city, anger in my eyes. "Who is in charge here? This outpost is a disgrace!" I know a man was sent out on a mission that was supposed to be completed, thanks to an informant. I also know I had ordered it done a week prior. I look around, for someone to respond, not phased by the fear on thee faces. "Well?"

I focused on the flame in Ale's hand. She was a natural firebender, a master at that, and at such a young age, it spoke of genius as well. There could be no better teacher, at least, in my current worldview. A gave a gracious smile to her, "Well, I'll consider it, perhaps once I start getting the basics for airbending? I do seem to do better with that, even if... I've always had trouble firebending, I'm sure you'll find it out someday, you already mastered your element, and you're much younger than me! You have your whole life, and I do think it will be long..." I punctuated that with a gruff sigh.

And that only left Vela to talk to. "I know I'd much rather be back on the island, but I should probably start learning the streets here... If spirits forbid I get lost or can't return to the island, I can't just wander around praying I make the right turns," I told her, stopping in front of the first street shop I saw showing off all sorts of meat, most I didn't recognize, "That and I want to give Ari something to eat, she hasn't raided the kitchen for almost a week."

With a quick nod I extinguished the flame and bent down to see the assortment of meats.

"I just want to cook and eat them," I mumble to myself. Looking back at Vela I go to agree with Homaru

"I think Kuthu wants the same thing as Ari does, he's been pulling my sleeve ever since he smelled meat. If we everdo get lost I bet the people of this city will be nice enough..."

Theodore || (Mentions the Avatar's Group)

As I exited the park and ventured into the streets the smells of the shops lured Jung out of my pocket and onto my shoulder. The streets weren't too crowded, but I was still wary of nosy onlookers as I fished a radio transmitter out of my back pocket and continued making my way to the outpost. I don't actually know anything about the technology, but I assumed that jiggling some wires around would suddenly give me the signal I was hoping for. Nothing. After sliding the radio back into my pocket, I scratched at the ear bud that was shoved down my ear canal just to make sure it was still there. It was. Defeated and frustrated, I crossed my arms across my chest--barely covering the insignia of the cause I worked for--and strode down the street.

As I was walking down a shop-filled street I came across a peculiar group of people in my way. I narrowed my eyes as I walked closer to them, a mental alarm ringing in the back of my head. I couldn't place who they were just yet.
