Anybody do it? Animation is pretty important to me since I want to be a professional animator, but I just can't do it. I have a ton of unfinished, 2 second animations because I always lose the motivation to make more frames or I might just open my animation program and stare at the screen for a few minutes before closing out. I don't know what it is but my motivation is just seriously lacking. I don't expect it to be super amazing or anything.
The same kind of goes for my drawings. They just never look good to me, or the ones that do look good quickly lose their value and I'm like yeah, that looks bad. I always feel the need for it to be better, which is good for improvement, but it also makes me look a bit too critically, to the point where it's terrible.

I do not do animation but I have some tips for Motivation. listen to music while you do it, if you are tried of listening to your own music, ask others for music options! Also, try not to be so hard on yourself hun. Nothing ever looks perfect to the maker but in the eyes of someone else it can be the best thing since Bacon. Post it and get other opinions, I'm pretty sure there is someone out there who will like your work.

I actually do post my work on a few art sites, but opinions are pretty rare, lol.
Thanks though. I listen to music sometimes, which helps a little bit.

Well when animaiting the most important thing is anatomy, if you have that correct it should look fine. Are you animaiting with a program like blender or do you draw each picture?

I have to draw each picture. I've done animation in blender before and it's much easier because you don't need to do every single frame, but for traditional 2D you do.

Well I think animating ina program like blender looks only good if you have many people working on it, 2D looks best if you are a single person. I would really like to help you be more motivated because I am a perfectionist and I do have the same problem.

When I need to get motivated, I usually watch people's animations on Youtube! Watching people's MAP Parts or college animations inspires me greatly, to say the least. As for your opinion on your own art; it's fine to feel that way! I feel the same most of the time, to be honest. But, other people seem to like my art, so that inspires me to keep going. Just because you're not satisfied doesn't mean no one else will like it! If you want to improve, though, you should definitely keep practicing--wanting to get better at drawing is nothing to be ashamed of! I promise you, there's always going to be someone out there that likes your art.

@Barkers15- Thanks. I can't really watch other people's animations since they actually make me feel worse. (I also can't enjoy movies like I used to >_<) Hopefully I'll eventually get over that part.

@Larentia- Yeah, I don't have a team so I do it on my own. It eases up the work of having to send files back and forth though.
