Let me start off by saying that I wish to get a master's degree in analytical literature, so I do not really plan on anything developing but I do find relaxation whether when I'm sketching/doing re-colors, writing, or doing photography. With that stated, I wish to improve my skills but I'm stuck on both fronts!

Photography 1 & Photography 2

Re-colors.

Traditional Sketches

Creative Writing.

My issue, really, is that I find it awkward to draw lineart digitally, even if I manage to scan it. I do have a Wacam tablet and Photoshop CS2 installed on my computer. I also have the disc for CorelDraw sitting somewhere in my room. I have also used Pixlr before.

Writing wise, I'm stuck a bit. I took AP Lang and Comp last year and got a 5/5 in the AP exam, so I'm not ignorant of the English grammar/vocab. Even so, the language is tricky and I am looking for insight on how to improve structure. Keep in mind that I have a "serious" tone of writing with somewhat dry humor, though.

Photography. . .well, I love clouds and the sun. Weather really, things that don't move very quickly. I have a Canon PowerShot SX40 HS as well as a smaller camera, a Panasonic DMC-ZS40. Any advice on how to use these cameras to take action shots or just any advice in general on where to branch out would be appreciated greatly.

Traditional sketching, I've been doing this for awhile now. I've sketched birthday gifts before, but I do have a long way to go. I never took any classes and only looked at online tutorials, and I've been drawing since around 2007. I have an animal anatomy book that I've been using on my free time or when I have the mindset to learn. Any tips or tricks would be appreciated!

I think that's about it.

Lineart is pretty tough to draw, I also haven't managed to master it properly. I just clean up my sketches like the lazy person I am :p I guess the key is always practice, and playing around with your brush settings.
I think the program Paint Tool SAI is better at lineart than Photoshop. It also might help to use different brushes other than the defaults. You can find a lot of free photoshop brushes easily with a google search.

btw, I really like your writing, most stuff I've read follows pretty similar structure. I like the second person style you've got going on. I can't really give a lot of insight on it though, because I'm not really good at writing myself.

I've heard that SAI is better than Photoshop because it's a bit easier to use. It's a free program, correct?

Thank you! Creative writing is my strong suit, or so I think. Mainly, I did second person since I've received requests for fanfictions and most use second person. ^.^" I have a original story in the works using third person, but. . .proofreading is a bit frustrating. xD

I'm pretty sure SAI is a paid program, but you can probably find a cracked version if you look hard enough. As is the case with any program really ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Got Sai, and I like the stability feature. Love it, actually. Already drawn a rough tail concept sketch. ^.^ Thank you!

I'm not like professional or anything, but I have few tips for photography. I'm more into animal photography and I think action photos are pretty tricky ones (but that makes them more interesting:D)

In my opinion the most important thing is light, usually the more the better (expect maybe when there is snow or your animal is white or something like that), sunny days are the best. If you don't have any idea camera settings (like ISO and white balance), auto settings are pretty good option. Usually there are a lot of auto settings in different situations and sport settings works well with the action photos.

Luckily you already have photoshop, because good photo editing can truly save medicore (or even bad) photo. You could crop out the date, tweek contrast, colors and stuff like that. I recommend playing around and testing out different things.

I've already done photo editing as I have given photographs of my family's pets as presents before. That being said, I haven't posted any as they are gifts and would prefer they remain only visible to those that see the physical picture.

My biggest issue with action shots is that my two cameras aren't really made for such. My iPhone has better chances of getting a clear, action picture than either of my cameras, even when I was tweaked the settings and made them custom.

Thank you for your input! ^.^
