This mutation causes extra muscle grow. When a lion is born with this, it can reach any age. It could die 1 month after birth but can also reach 16 years old. It is a random change.

Gameplay affect: yes, lion dies randomly because of heart faillure. The lioness have higher change on huntsucces and kings, subs om patroll and explore. Cubs have a higher change on succes with training.
This is a heritable disease. If both parents carry the mutated gene(Aa), cub has 25% of having the disease(aa).
Lethal: no
Appears: birth

This is a mutation that is found in cows, dogs, rabbits, mouse, horses, fish, pigs, sheeps, cats and humans.

I'm not sure if those pictures are mutations. I think they were genetically modified. Well the cow, I'm not sure about the dog.

@Raven - its still a mutation - selective breeding, from breeding one mutated extra-beefy cow to another until you get a herd of ultra-beefers. The gene passes from that one mutie to the rest of the herd via breeding.

Support. Double Muscling is cool-looking and it could give some stat bonuses but also some penalties. Would be cool as a non-lethal but stat altering mut like Dwarfism.

Also what causes the double muscling condition is most certainly a mutation because it is caused by a change in the gene that regulates the production of the enzyme myostatin that in normal individuals curbs the growth of muscles.
For the cows, the mutation was bred in specifically, while for the dogs it is just something present in the whippet breed's gene pool which remained in there because aside from the double muscled dogs, it also produced very fast dogs.

Raven, they aren't genetically modified beyond normal selective breeding of the trait in cattle.

Myostatin:

also known as growth differentiation factor 8, abbreviated GDF-8) is a myokine, a protein produced and released by myocytes that acts on muscle cells' autocrine function to inhibit myogenesis: muscle cell growth and differentiation. In humans it is encoded by the MSTN gene.[4] Myostatin is a secreted growth differentiation factor that is a member of the TGF beta protein family.

Animals either lacking myostatin or treated with substances that block the activity of myostatin have significantly more muscle mass. Furthermore, individuals who have mutations in both copies of the myostatin gene have significantly more muscle mass and are stronger than normal. There is hope that studies into myostatin may have therapeutic application in treating muscle wasting diseases such as muscular dystrophy.

Whoa, that's cool. But, are there any medical issues for those animals? Idk why, but I kinda feel bad for them.
