Riley felt tears run down her cheek, as she looked herself over in the mirror once more. She had to do this. It would be what was best for her, her family, and her people. No matter how many times Riley said this, she couldn't get her heart into it. She didn't want to marry someone she didn't love. She couldn't. Riley shook her head, really looking at herself. Her mixed black and white skin. Dark brown, wavy, waist length hair and hazel eyes. Other people thought of her as beautiful, but Riley didn't really think so, she didn't really know what to think if she were being honest. Riley sniffed before turning her back to the mirror. She couldn't do this.

I knew I wasn't anything special mostly since I was short for my age, I had dark brown hair and blue eyes which was a little hard to come by in my kind which I guess made me strange to others, I sighed to myself wondering if I was going to meet anyone because I knew this life could be pretty lonely being out here on your own. I smiled to myself knowing that I would meet the right girl that I would like some day.

Finding herself outside, Riley ran. She didn't know where, and at the moment she didn't care. Nothing registered in her mind. What would happen if somebody found her. What would happen if someone didn't. At that point, she just knew she had to get our of there. Riley couldn't go through with that marriage. It wasn't a heart decision. And no matter how much, Riley wanted to make her parents proud, this was one thing she couldn't do for them. Instead, she willed her feet to go faster until she could go no more. Her breathing was heavy and uneven, as she put her arms on her legs, trying to take deep breaths. A sound caught her attention, making her look up and around. She didn't know where she was nor did she know what could be out there. "Hello," she says into the darkness.

I closed my eyes thinking about things before hearing the sound of someone's voice, I took notice that the voice likely belonged to a female which I guess was strange. I looked down from the tree before seeing a very beautiful female and wondered for a moment what she was doing out here since I knew things out here could be dangerous. I got down from the tree "What is a pretty woman like you doing out in these wood?" I asked her.

Riley jumped as a young man came down from a tree. Her mouth hung open, as she hurried to look away. She shook her head. Who was this stranger? Surely nobody from her kingdom, or she would have recognized them. Since that was the case, why was he out here? Alone nonetheless. She looked back athim, noticing a smirk on his face before frowning. "What are you doing out here?!" She decided to ignore his earlier comment about being pretty though she didn't forget and actually blushd a bit .

I smirked when noticing that I had made her jump "Travelling is why I'm out here" I told her softly. I knew I had no clue who she was having never really spent much time around the different towns since I normally prefured to keep to myself when it came to strangers but I couldn't put my finger on it but to me she seemed different from those I had seen, "So what are you doing out here? its pretty dangerous to be out here alone you know" I said to her with a soft smile hoping that I wasn't scaring her.

Riley stated at him, trying to figure out whether or not she could trust him. It sounded stupid for her to think like that because all young kids were taught never to trust a stranger, yet here she was debating with herself. Riley truly couldn't help it. It was something about this mystery guy that just interested her, and she felt like she knew him. Maybe she really was delusional, but she wouldn't deny her own feelings to herself. And he sounded genuine, looked it too with that soft smile on his face. Maybe he was trustworthy. "I just had to get away."

I looked slightly confused at that moment "Were you being chased or something?" I asked her wondering why she had to get away "What were you getting away from?" I asked. I didn't know anything much about her so I didn't really know what situation she was in, I wondered for a moment who she was "I almost forgot to introduce myself, my name's Dean" I told her with a soft charming smile.

Riley eyed the man in front of her for a short second before nodding. 'Riley," she says softly before sitting down on the forest grass. It was uncomfortable, but she didn't care. She had gotten tired of standing. She ran a hand through her dark brown, wavy hair, something she always did when she was thinking before looking at Dean. He truly did seem nice and genuine. For some odd reason she felt truly comfortable with him. "My destiny," she answered since he asked her what she was running from.

I smiled a little "Then if your running away from that then I don't think its your destiny" I said to her, I sighed to myself before hearing footsteps and could smell a hint of gun powder or something like that so I could tell that the person had a gun and was likely after me "Do you think you'll be able to climb the tree?" I asked her thinking that it was likely better that she was hidden just in case this went bad.

Riley looked taken aback before looking at the tree he had been talking about. Well of course she thought she could climb it. She'd been climbing tress since she was young, but why did that matter to him? That's what she gets for telling her life story to a stranger. "Yes I think I can, but why would I need to?" She asks, eyeing Dean.

"Because right now is the best time since there's a very likely chance of you getting hurt soon" I said to her hoping that she would likely do as I had asked her for her own safety since I cared dearly about her and wanted to keep her safe from all harm at the very least.

Riley's eyes widened, as she stated at Dean. He had to be kidding. There was no way he would actually put her in harm's way? This is exactly, as he parents had talked about. Why had she talked to this....... this stranger! Now she was in danher! She ran from one problem to another. She stood straight up, knowing that as soon as this was over, she was leaving. Leaving him and everything else behind her. She doesn't look at him, as she climbed the tree, going to a branch that was about forty feet off the ground before stopping and deciding to see what would happen next.

I heard the sound of a gunshot followed by pain in my shoulder, I growled knowing that it was the guy that I had spotted before. I turned into my wolf form before going after the guy and bit down on his arm where he was holding the gun because I did't want the girl to be harmed in anyway since I was worried about her even though I had just met her.

Riley watched as Dean transformed into a wolf before lunging for the guy, and she nearly fainted. This wasn't real. Someone had to be playing a trick on her?! But as she watched she knew it wasn't so. Dean was a monster. She watched as he tore into the poor, innocent guy before scrambling down the tree and running in the opposite direction. To get away from him and to save her own life. Today really wasn't her day.
