So, this is a thought I've always had a about the female leopardess encounter. You know the one, where you flirt, fight, ect. If you pick flirt you get the text "Adepemak knows what you were doing later" which clearly implies some amorous/sexual stuff. It's even been speculated the lipard encounter a result of that fling!

What I'm suggesting is introducing Lipards into the game alongside Leopons. Lipards could be a possible result from that encounter, while the encounter itself could remain the same or become rare (it's already an uncommon encounter in explore). Leopards are solo animals and raise their cubs without help from the father, so most of the leopardess ladies you breed will simply forget about you. However, maybe one day you get a message, though the chances of that are the same as breeding a pon.

"Your lionesses have gathered on the edge of your territory, surrounding something. Curious, you shoulder your way to them and see a vaguely familiar looking leopardess. Her eyes light up and something mews below her. You notice a cub in her jaws! She tells you it's yours, that she is [young, inexperience and unsure/old and not long for this world] and wants to raise it among your lions until it's weaned! Feeling responsible, you ignore the growls of your lionesses and give her a place in your pride."

First gen lipards would be born with:
-A Lipard spawned Hanjamanjano base (Cream Dark Countershade Special)
-Lipard spawned Fading Rosettes
Sunglow Eyes
-Under White 5
-Zarabu colored mane with Lipard spawn Underhang style
-Low Stats
-First Gens would have a 10% chance of passing, their offspring only 5%

Now, I WILL draw an adult version of the Lipard so you all can get a better idea of what this thing would look like.

Could be interesting way to get one, but I think it should be in the category of Leopon, and probably even lower the rates of getting a Leopon.

This has already been suggested and denied. Also, I highly doubt the mother would willingly give up her cub. I understand if she died, but her instincts would tell her to protect and raise her cubs.

I support, but isn't a lipard and a leopon basically the same thing?

I'm not strongly for or against this suggestion—however, to Kitsune's point, big cats mothers are known to reject/kill their cubs for a variety of reasons, including environmental stressors, large litter sizes, health problems, etc.

And as we're dealing with anthropomorphized animals, it's not inconceivable that the leopardess would perceive something to be "wrong" with the cub and opt to surrender it to its (presumed) father rather than killing or abandoning it.

I like it but say the lipard works how would u know it’s a fling she would walk off and that’s it like the male leopard does u would have to claim her if that’s the case she should be a little harder to claim since she’s a leopard

@Butterfly I doubt we can “claim” the Leopardess. If this were to be implemented, we’ll never see the mother in person just like how we never see the father/progenitor of any G1 Leopon.
Unless there were to be an event just like Tigons did, and it is very unlikely to happen any time soon.

Maybe the cub could show up at the edge of your territory 8 day after the encounter? Three for pregnancy, five to hit five monthes

Maybe instead of the mother and since you cant get cubs from explore, you could get and adult kinda of likeyou have to claim linoesses you have to claim the lipard which is very hard and no leopard flower and 2gb options?

Not really replying to anyone specifically, THIS IS JUST A GENERAL SMALL RANT:

»Explore-based encounters could create an overabundance of these hybrids or any muties in general ESPECIALLY G1 mutations!
»That is why when lionesses are chased their current mutation gets erased. It is an INTENTIONAL FEATURE! This is so that heritageless muties don't flood the market otherwise it will devalue them more than it already has.
»I dunno why we are obsessing over an explore/claiming-based mechanic to obtain HYBRIDS, one of the supposedly rarest adult mutations atm.
»Instead I am suggesting that we should do it like the RLs or Celestial lioness raffle (I personally rather prefer if it was anything like the Savage male studding system) type of deal instead or do it like the olden days of Tigon boost release

»And most importantly, no I am not trying to be negative. I do think it's time for a new big shiny mutation to shine! But there is no such thing as being too careful with important features.

would lipard just be a sub-mutation of a leopon/a female variation.
I'm not the best with hybrids, but this just seems exactly like a leopon, just with a shiny new name [as suggested by someone above me in the comments]. The only difference is that the roles are reversed of the species the parents are in.

I agree that adding this to be an explore encounter is something we CANNOT do.
As said above, it would first of all, crash the market, secondly every single time you run into it, you get a hybrid; that's not acceptable, nor fair considering how HARD it is to get a tigon/leopon; why make it an exception for a hybrid that is literally just a leopon with the parent's roles reversed. This would also result in many g2 hybrids from the lipard, and would make it so the hybrids become common INCREDIBLY quick.

I run into the leopardess encounter quite a lot personally, and sometimes i run into her several times a day; boom, i possibly get several hybrids in a single day.

But my main issue is, how are they different from leopons, and why exactly should they be added?

@rufus, it's not a suggestion to make you get one every time you get the encounter
that's just sort of the lore behind it
the chances of getting one would probably be the same as a regular hybrid

it still just doesn't feel right to me. Lipard and leopons are barely different, they just have the parental roles reversed and different names. I would much rather a completely unique hybrid, such as the jaglion [already being made].
