What is Erythrism? Erythrism or erythrochroism refers to an unusuaI reddish pigmentation of an animaI's fur, hair, skin, feathers, or eggshells.  If you have never heard of Xanthochromism It's basically like Erythrism but they have a yellow pigmentaion in their fur.  This bird is an example of Xanthochromism Xanthochromism (also called xanthochroism or xanthism) is an unusually yellow pigmentation in an animal. It is often associated with the lack of usual red pigmentation and its replacement with yellow. The cause is usually genetic but may also be related to the animal's diet. A Cornell University survey of unusual-looking birds visiting feeders reported that 4% of such birds were described as xanthochromistic (compared with 76% albinistic). The opposite of xanthochromism, a deficiency in or complete absence of yellow pigment, is known as axanthism. Erythrism has been accepted and is planned, near the top of the post in the "visible at birth" section. But Xanth-however it's spelled isn't mentioned, so I'd suggest just slimming it down to that :) 1 player likes this post! Like? |

This would be cool to have, and I support the fact that you have facts and everything to back you up, but I just think it won't be a mutation it will just look like a base to much, plus it is very similar to the golden base already so I will have to kindly disagree on this, unless you can change my mind of course :3 0 players like this post!
