We don't have much time left.

The Icelandic region of Romsdal takes with one hand and gives with the other. It is a land that can be rich with resources at one moment, and devoid of any sustenance at another. Which is why Highvalley is of such importance in this world. It must be taken, and it must be ruled, by a being of strength and power.
Enter the Blackback Guard. A fearsome clan of nomadic vikings who do not share the same pedigree as most weredogs who roam these lands, as a matter of fact they are thought to not exist at all. Wolf blood runs heavy in the veins of these fur-cloaked heathens and they flaunt it proudly. They are the last existing canis lupus of all of Scandinavia, and it is because of the Highvalley dogs that they have become so scarce. Many decades ago, the royal family of Highvalley declared wolf-blood unpure and infected, and banished every wolf from these lands. Any wolves found within their lands were to be executed on sight. It is believed that due to these practices the species was utterly destroyed; but they lived on, and they are back with a vengeance.
