Recommended Items For DU Breeding
Lion Scrotum
When given to female, her mutation has 25% chance to pass in next breeding as long as it has no extraneous requirements. This effect triggers last if bred cub still has no mutation. Uses GMO/LM slot. (Hybrids excluded)
(This is REQUIRED to pass a DU's mutation, the other items below are optional.)
(Please note that Piebald rolls before Lion Scrotum, so do not use a piebald stud. All other mutations are fine.)

Great Tit
If fed to your main male, next breeding's litter will be entirely female.
(Since the DU mutation is female only)

Buffalo Scrotum
Guarantees at least 3 cubs in next breeding. Eaten by male.
(This would guarantee 6 cubs with DU's)

Grain of Paradise
Guarantees at least 2 cubs in next breeding. Eaten by male.
(This would guarantee 4 cubs with DU's)

How DU Breeding Works

1. The first breeding always generates the final cub amount, which is doubled from the start, whether you use a second stud or not. It makes it worth breeding with just one stud entirely if you so choose, allowing you to reap the Double Uterus benefits with a single father as well.
2. The second breeding does not generate more cubs; however, it will overwrite half of the cubs with the second stud's genetics, like in any breeding for a normal litter.
3. Items that affect litter sizes should be used during the first breeding. They will not affect anything during the second breeding, because the litter size has already been determined upon conception.
4. Items that affect bases, markings, etc. are useful for both the first and second breedings, depending upon which genetics you want to carry over onto the cubs.
5. Items that affect mutations will not double your chances with the second breeding. The second breeding overwrites existing cubs in the womb.
6. If the first breeding used mutation items and generated cubs with a mutation, you run the risk of them being overwritten in the second breeding.
7. If the first breeding had no mutations, it might be worth it to use mutation items on the second breeding to overwrite half of the "empty" cubs for that second chance.

Scrying your litters helps with such decisions.
