The chat room seems to be coded like a form you fill in, and each time I start to type, it automatically suggests entire messages that start with the same letter or word as I type. On mobile, as I am decently active and use Chrome on PC and my phone, this can take up the entire screen. It's unneeded and distracting, since people are chatting about different things all day long. It could also encourage spamming if somebody types out a sentence and just keeps sending it by typing the first letter or word. It gets in the way, and is a bit cluttered. Just selecting the chat window fills it up with suggestions of past messages, and covers the entire chat so I can't even tell if somebody said something to me or didn't realize the conversation moved on while typing. Even if I clear my cache and log back in, it continually fills back up every time I chat.

My suggestion is to find a way to disable that in the chat somehow, so we can chat without seeing every other message we typed that day pop up as soon as we select the chat window to begin typing.

This suggestion has 10 supports and 9 NO supports.

I don’t seem to have this at all? It might just be your browser doing that?

I'd like to suggest that you could have a special button to turn it off and on, because for me, auto fill is really helpful, especially for advertisements in sales chat. I wouldn't want that feature to be gone, or else It would be extremely annoying to have to type out the entire advertisement every single time. With a special button, we could turn it off for main chat, but keep it for sales.

Or as Rainbow said, it may just be our browsers

@McRainbow You might have autofill disabled entirely on your browser?

I support removing this. It makes things like ads a little easier, but you can also keep a notepad with your ad messages in it for your own use. The big negative for autofill is that it's yet another thing that makes the mobile site a bitch to use.

I suspect that this is something in the coding itself and could not be made a toggle.

I had it in Firefox before I linked my accounts. I don't use Fapple products so I am not sure about Safari, and I hate Edge, but I can test it later. About the sales chat ads, maybe have a Google docs or a notepad with the sales advertisement? You just select, copy, and paste. An option to store an ad and repost it could work, too, and it won't suggest everything you have said.

A feature allowing a sales ad to be stored and reposted in the sales chat could work well, allowing that functionality in the ad channel, and keeping the auto fill out of the main.

Benefit of that is it could have a cool down for reposting the ad, kinda like bumping a thread. This would make it easier to post your sales ad, and help avoid ad spamming.

If there are browsers without auto fill, then anybody could take advantage of such a feature.

I don't think it's possible to separate channels in terms of autofill function. Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, though.

The browser caches things you've copies and pasted. If you want a horrendous browsing experience for a few days, clear the caches and problem solved ;)

I don't think so, either. But having the option to store an ad would get rid of the need for auto fill and make it so it would work on any browser. I may Google how to remove auto fill in Chrome later, but I do use it in other places. It's just making chatting so irritating, since I do like chatting when I am bored. The community and admins here are so much nicer than another sim site I recently left. I actually enjoy the chat here.
