if you take two of your beetles, of any two different species, they will have a very small chance of producing a hybrid. otherwise, it would produce either the mother or father's species. hybrids can only breed with the same hybrid (to obviously produce that hybrid) or with their mother or father's species, producing a hybrid or the mother/father's species.

Ex: Beetle #1 (H. Axyridis) and Beetle #2 (C. Kraatzi) are bred. They could just produce a H. Axyridis or a C. Kraatzi, but there is also the chance of a hybrid. They produce a rare hybrid, which we will call S. Hybriduz. Beetle #3 (S. Hybriduz, the offspring) is mature enough to breed now. They can breed with a H. Axyridis, a C. Kraatzi, or a S. Hybriduz. If they bred with H. Axyridis, that would either produce a H. Axyridis or S. Hybriduz. If they bred with a C. Kraatzi, that would either produce a C. Kraatzi or a S. Hybriduz. If they bred with a S. Hybriduz, that would produce a S. Hybriduz.
