Say you're the founder of a clan, but you give ownership to someone else. That someone goes inactive, causing the clan to start dying. Or, they abuse that clan. You, the founder of the clan, could reclaim it and be owner instead if the other person. Or say you gave it to a friend for a break due to large amounts of messages from members, but never said it was a permanent change, but the current owner won't give it back, and has now completely changed that clan into something you never wanted it to be.

Please tell me why you don't support this idea.

Sorry, but I don't support. Once you give ownership to someone else, it is their clan to do with as they wish. It's similar to selling a lion - you may want them to care for the lion, but if they want to fodder it, they're within their rights to do so. If you want the clan, or want the clan to stay as something - then you need to be the one to run it, otherwise, you have to just accept that it is no longer your responsibility.

While I dont support this exact idea (because what if the new owner put a lot of work, time and money into the clan and it just gets taken away from them?) perhaps we can find a different solution.

For example, if you're going away and want to keep the clan active, but won't be able to yourself, why not introduce temporary owners? For example, a person can be the owner of a clan for a week, a few months, however long and after that expires the ownership goes back to the founder.

I think this would be better than just claiming back ownership, because people can abuse this.

Yeah, I'd agree to that. Temporarily owners would be a good addition - something completely automated, without relying on promises. It could even have a feature of "Extend time by X (days, weeks, months)" that the owner could request, and the temporary owner could say yes or no. If they said no, it'd return back ownership to the owner on the original date.
