Rules:

1) Do not claim Carines as your own, and please credit me. You retain rights to your Carine's design and character, but don't take my species! I'd be sad.

2) Please treat any Carine Staff as well as other players with respect. I feel like that goes without saying.

3) Payment must be received before you can claim an individual Carine or anything else as your own. That goes for original sales, as well as transactions between players. I will be keeping a public database with player numbers and their Carine numbers.

4) Please notify me if a Carine changes ownership so I can update said database. I recommend negotiating sales on this thread, and taking screenshots of any payments sent in case proof of sale/payment is needed. If you decide to reject a payment for whatever reason, take a screenshot as well. I can’t back either party if I don’t have proof either way. (I’m hoping that this is never necessary, but ya never know.)

5) Do not change the design of your Carine. It was born this way!

6) Chill, have fun, love Carines.

FAQ:

Q: How do I get a Carine?
A: There are many ways to obtain a Carine! You may purchase one via auction or flat sale in the adoptions and sales post. Contests, raffles, and giveaways may be held in which you could win a Carine. You might explore in hopes of finding a wild Carine, or you could purchase one from other players.


Q: What can I do with a Carine?
A: A lot! You can take the design and go on your way. You are welcome to develop its character and use it in roleplays, as an OC or as a Sona. You can add accessories to it, if you desire. You may also use it to interact deeper in the little created universe here. You can breed it, explore with it, or resell it. Whatever your heart’s desire!


Q: Is there anything I can’t do with a Carine?
A: You can’t claim the species as your own. And you can’t change its design. You also can’t change any background or qualities given with its original creation without asking a Carine Staff Member first. This includes its sex.


Q: How can I breed a Carine?
A: Well, if you have a male (Buff) and female (Brood) Carine of your own, you can smush those two little cuties together and welcome their baby into the world! Unlike in the wild, captive Carines don’t have to be monogamous unless you want them to be. To breed, you will need a Baboo Leaf to get them in the mood, so you’ll need to purchase that before you can get that kit! Once you’ve purchased a Baboo Leaf and want to breed them, post in the forum saying so. And be aware- the time you post (in Lioden time) has a chance of affecting the outcome!

If you have a Brood, but no Buff, you can also hire out a stud. This can be an original stud, or another player’s. You will still need your Baboo Leaf and post in the forum that you will be breeding. If you’re breeding with another player’s stud, you will need to post a screenshot proving payment was sent, as well, or have them post, stating their permission.

Females will need to cool down for five days after breeding. Males can breed indefinitely.

Usually, a single kit will be born, although in rare cases, twins do happen!


Q: What are these, “Clips,” I’m seeing?
A: A Clip is a male or female Carine that has been sterilized. Sterilizing a Carine allows its power to become stronger (with the exception of powerless, or mundane, Carines). So while they may not be able to breed, they’d make great exploring pals!


Q: How can I explore?
A: In order to explore, you’ll need to get some gear! You may buy a travel pack for any specific explore area listed. Different areas have different equipment needs. Multiple tiers of travel packs are available, some including extra equipment for searching for particular items or helping to gain the trust of a wild Carine.

If you have a Carine already, you may choose to explore additional areas as well. These areas require a Carine guide to get you through safely. You may also bring your Carine along in regular explore areas for extra help. Carines will have cooldowns after they explore so they can rest. The time varies between individuals based on their stamina.


Q: How do you decide what I find, claim, or breed?
A: Always good to know the mechanics behind things, right? Almost everything is decided using a random number generator. For encounters and claims, there are written results and findings associated with different numbers rolled. Breeding uses a random number generator as well, along with a genetic code I’ve created for guidance. I will likely share this code at some point, so you can see what’s happening with your breeds!


Q: Do you do customs?
A: Not at the moment, but I plan to!
