I stay neutral toward this, only because -- while I agree that their classification of this base is kinda daft -- there are a lottttttttt of bases in which the same logic can be followed (moving their classification). And the issue with that is fucking up peoples' well-established projects. Like, obviously, River up there was fine with the idea; some people are. I, personally, would be pissed if the base I've been working for for close to a year, Sunset, was moved. I'd have to dump A L L of my Anjeers, Gingers, Rusts, Mauves, Prunes, Fierys, Maroons... and then collect a shitton of lionesses that fitted the new classification....

While I agree with you to a degree, boneless, would you rather have properly classified bases or a completely incorrect, nonsensical, buggy system? Aside from that, this base is newer, and it is the only one (in this thread) I am reccomending we change. And frankly, it needs to be changed.

I mean there's adding variety and then there's blatantly mislabeling a base. If there were more gold to this, perhaps some wispy gold "clouds" through it then I could see it in the golden group, but as is it looks more red. They could have used colors similar to fiery instead, which would have worked much better, but oh well.

No support, there are bases that would fit better somewhere else in a bunch of groups, and Golden deserves to have a few of those oddballs too I think, it adds some value to what was once a rarely used and disliked color group, and that was sorely needed.

Just because other groups have weird bases that don't belong in their group doesn't mean we should have more of those? :/ Just make nicer bases for those groups.

It's hard to make a golden base that doesn't look exactly like the ones we already have, but color shifted, because people will always argue that it belongs somewhere else (usually Cream or Red). I can support some minor changes to Bast to make it a touch more gold, but I think it needs to stay where it belongs genetics wise.

No support, but not because I don't necessarily agree. I believe the whole color chart needs to be updated with more precise categories. For example, some of the black bases are brown, not black--like Chestnut. Yet a base similar in color like Sepia is somehow red?

I appreciate all of the feedback, everyone. You all have some interesting takes. I still stick with this, however, because even if they're trying to add some differentiation with the golden bases, bast does not belong there! It's very clearly not a golden base. They should create some new golden bases that FIT in the category of they want more. Thank you to everyone who supports this, though!

While I agree with the general idea that bases should be placed within the color group they look like, I don't agree with only only changing Bast's genetics. There are other bases that stand out far more than Bast, and it is one of the two applicable bases we currently have that are Golden Countershaded - the other one being Anubis - and you can only get one per account per year. Red Medium Countershaded has two applicable bases already, and both are far more easy to get than Bast.

As I see it, you either shuffle all bases around where they belong - Solids in Solids, Countershadeds in Countershadeds, in their color group - or you are taking away something from a color group that you don't really need.
