Welcome to Lioden!

As stated in the title, I am looking to adopt and/or mentor some newbies! I want to help someone new to the game feel at home and lend them a bit of a hand since I know starting out can be a bit tough. Rest assured I have an experience of playing for slightly more than 4 years, so you are in good paws. However, I'll only be adopting three newbies at a time.

I will give my three children some gifts and such, but before we talk about those, I do have some rules.

•❅──────✧❅✦❅✧──────❅•

1. Don't beg for me to give you things. I'll occasionally give you some gifts and whatnot, and I'll definitely help with feeding the pride if stuff is tight, but I'm not your food/currency/lion provider. You need to learn how to get and earn those things, I'm only giving you a head start.

(On that note, the best time to ask for emergency food aka. to save a lion with 80% is at 2:05 - 4:00 AM Lioden time before I sell expiring food at the Monkey Business for SB)

2. Kindness goes a long way, and I tend to give what people give me. If you behave like a brat, I will not help you.

3. I won't take more than three people at a time because I don't have the resources to take more than three. However, this does not stop me from answering questions. Just send a PM and I'll be happy to answer your questions.

(Once slots are free and my resources are stocked up I would be willing to continuing mentoring)

4. If you want to have quicker, better communication with me, you need a Skype account. This isn't a rule per say, it's more of a recommendation since I use that app all the time and I get notifications there quite easily.

•❅──────✧❅✦❅✧──────❅•

With that said, here's what people I mentor will get:

1. A Toy Bundle, a Food Bundle and a goodie bag with random stuff. (one of each, don't go asking for three of the same thing)

2. Half price for stud fee to my King

3. A transfer of a few cubs or lionesses to start them off with some pride members.

This is not the place for you to get freebies just because you're new to Lioden. Beginner Packs will not be given to players whom I believe can survive without it

Hi! I'm new and pretty confused about some things, though I think I have most of the basics down? Is it okay if I ask some questions?

Awesome, thank you! So 1) golden beetles - are they only acquirable via buying or trading with other users? and if not, how are they acquired?

2) what exactly does "clean" mean in terms of a lion's lineage? I'm 90% sure it means no repeated ancestors/inbreeding, but I figured I'd check!

3) Stats and breeding - are stats heritable? for example, would breeding two higher stated lions result in cubs with better stats, or is that just a result of training them while they're a cub?

4) Monkey business - does the monkey only display craftings that you have the materials for?

I think that's it for now. Thanks again!

Golden beetles, most commonly referred to as gb, is only acquirable through trading with others or buying with real money in the Oasis.

2) what exactly does "clean" mean in terms of a lion's lineage? I'm 90% sure it means no repeated ancestors/inbreeding, but I figured I'd check!
'Clean' means no inbreeding within the lion's lineage. However, some players also view 'clean' as no lineage with the Big 4. The Big 4 are Keyzer Soze, The Savannah Prince, Boombah, Hot Hot Tater Tot. They're players who value high stats, so if your lion has stats higher than average, it's likely that your lion has a lineage related to the Big 4.

To avoid clashes with players who have different views towards what 'clean' is, it's best you make it clear in your lion's bio or thread exactly what type of 'clean' the lion possesses.
Clean = No Inbreeding in Lineage OR NB4 = No Big 4/Statters OR C/NB4 = No Inbreeding & No Big 4

3) Stats and breeding - are stats heritable? for example, would breeding two higher stated lions result in cubs with better stats, or is that just a result of training them while they're a cub?
Breeding two high stats will result in a cub with stats somewhere in the middle. So for example, 1000+ stat lion bred with another 1000+ stat lion will get you a cub with stats around 400-600 stats. Training while the cub/adolescent usually gives them experience, and once the lion matures to 2 years of age, there's a stat boost. However, if the cub/adolescent's training does not reach 75%, there would be no stat boost. Stat item can also be given to lions to boost their stats.

4) Monkey business - does the monkey only display craftings that you have the materials for?
No, the Monkey Business displays all items that can be crafted. If you click on the item you wish to craft, at the bottom of the list you will see the required components to be able to craft the item.

Oh wow, that's interesting! Thank you so much, the different versions of clean seem pretty important. So one last question about the monkey business - the wiki for the November event says there are craftable items, but I'm not seeing any when I check it out. Have they not been unlocked yet?

Oh right, that part totally escaped my mind >_<

Some monthly events have craftable items that only occur during that month. So you will have to purchase the crafted item or wait until the month to craft your own.

Huh. If the November event is ongoing, shouldn't I see the crafting for November then? the only thing I have available to craft is nesting material. Was wondering if it was related to the tier system? (sorry if my first question about this was unclear!)

This month's craftable items can be crafted in the Moneky Business. If they can't be crafted after you've clicked on the item, it means you don't have all the required components to be able to craft the item.

When you say the only thing you have available to craft is nesting material, do you mean you can only see the nesting material? Or can you only afford to craft nesting material?

The only thing I can see at all is the nesting material! And I've taken quests from the shamans today/drunk from the pool/get beetles, so I haven't turned the event off. It goes "other", in the buy section, and then "nesting material crafting" and then nothing

So you go to Monkey Business, click Decor Crafting and you don't see a list of possible items you can craft?

Decor Crafting is above the 'Bundles & Specialty' sign so you don't have to scroll all the way to the bottom of the page towards the nesting material.
