Among the lands of North Africa, every pride participates in a never-ending game of survival. The Sand Games. A twisted form of population control, prides send their adolescent children out into the Sahara upon the morning of their first birthdays without fail. The objective? Only the strongest and smartest will make it. If by the end of their first year they still live they may return to their families, often with some form of reward in store. Yet surviving the desert is a difficult task and few reach the end in one piece if at all. Some lions choose to strike out on their own, others attempt to form allies, and some even go so far as to eliminate their competition. Danger awaits you beyond the endless dunes. Will you survive the Sand Games, or are you just another victim of the system?

RULES & GUIDELINES

• All LioDen rules apply.

• This is a literate roleplay. Be prepared to write at least one paragraph (5-6 sentences) for every post, though I encourage more. It IS completely fine to occasionally write shorter posts, sometimes it’s even required in order to allow your fellow roleplayers an opportunity to react, but make sure you’re giving those around you something they can respond to.

• Use proper punctuation and capitalization. You might want to write in all upper or lower case for the aesthetic, but it’s difficult for a lot of people to read and won’t be acceptable here.

• The Sand Games is a little bit like a D&D campaign, heavily story and adventure-based with npcs being utilized by myself and my co-mods. If you don’t like the idea of your character working with others to succeed or following a somewhat predetermined path this probably isn’t the roleplay for you.

• Your character CAN die if you aren’t careful, neglect your health, or make bad choices. With that said, the safest options aren’t always the most thrilling. It’ll be up to you if the risks you take are worth it, but be prepared! Your actions have consequences here.

• You are permitted one adult character per person, but be aware the main storyline is for adolescents. If you have a specific idea for your adult/want to run a plot by me feel free and if it’s reasonable I can probably include it!

• We’ll be using a simplified stat system for this roleplay, the information for it can be found in the post below this one. The roleplay itself will be held here on LioDen, however, I’ll be creating a chat server on Discord where we can use a dice roller once we get started. If you do not wish to join the official Discord I will also create an ooc thread onsite, but you will have to trust me and my co-mods to do/oversee your rolls for you.

• You may use the wardrobe to design your characters, but be realistic in concerns to decor. No wings, horns, etc.

• Practice proper roleplay etiquette. Powerplaying, godmodding, etc is prohibited.

• Your lion isn’t perfect. Remember all characters have flaws.

• In accordance with LioDen’s roleplay rules, this thread is 16+. Graphic depictions of gore and other mature content must fade to black.
