💥Melokuhle/Rahoul/Cherryshadow💥
Melokuhle sat atop the Prides Rock, an unmovable boulder in the middle of his territory, basking on it in the sun. It is the rock all kings of his pride before him had sat on. Beside him on the rock was a larger lion, age showing in the ravines on his face. It was his father, Rahoul. His mother had passed on long ago, having the older lion beside him be his only family. Their pride was small for now, but when Melokuhle becomes king, he will make amends with all their enemies and help others get by and maybe grow his pride. His father wasn't much like him, but he liked his son's spirit. Lately, Rahoul could see that his son was somewhat falling into a depression. Their pridemate, Cherryshadow, was doing her best to keep him busy and distracted from whatever was bothering him, but she knew it wouldn't be enough for a while. Having knowing why Melokuhle was down in the dumps, she pitied him. She sat below the rock, leaning into it longingly staring up at the heir of the pride.

💫Lumine💫
Lumine approached the forbidden territory, holding the bundle of fur in her mouth. The young lioness seemed timid and broken. She sniffed the air, catching the scent of a frequently walked path. She hoped that someone would find her only remaining young. Her bloodstained paws walked to the edge of a well worn path. Gently setting her cub in a pile of leaves, she pushed her head against his. Tears welling in her eyes, she licked her child one last time and retreated back into the unclaimed land of the Savannah. Her heart pounded in her chest, but she knew things would be better this way, she knew he could be happy somewhere free of violence and hatred.

💥Melokuhle/Rahoul/Cherryshadow💥

Rahoul stared at Melokuhle for a moment before sighing. "Son, there are things in the world you need to know before you run this pride and move on with your life." Rahoul began, nudging him with a paw. "You have to keep your head up and follow your instincts, not your heart. Your heart could lead you into mischievous places that the pride can't take on with you." He brought himself closer to his son. "Maybe we can go on a border patrol tonight to clear your head of whatever seems to be bothering you." Rahoul offered before leaping off of the rock and walking to a lifeless zebra calf carcass and feasting upon it. Melokuhle pondered the offer silently to himself. Cherryhadow reached her head up to his chest and purred comfortingly to him. "Everything will be fine. You will be fine." She said and looked up to him only to be a bit disappointed that he didn't seem to be paying attention to her. In Melo's mind, he was picturing Lumine waiting for him back at the watering hole. Once he heard Cherryshadow sigh, he brought his head down to hers and nuzzled her closer to him. "Sorry. You're right." He replied absentmindedly.

Cherryshadow nudged him roughly. "Hey, how about we go to the watering hole, hm?" She suggested and her heart went up and down as his smile widened. "Cool, yeah. Sure." Melo leaped off the rock excitedly. Cherryshadow hid the slight pain she felt in her heart, knowing that he only wanted to go to feel closer to Lumine, even though it's been months since the two last saw each other. Cherryshadow was certain she was most likely dead, given that she was found out and in a pride as evil as the one she was in. The two lions made their way out of the territory and farther into the Savannah. This isn't the first time Cherryshadow had followed him to the body of water.

💫Lumine💫
Heart in her throat, Lumine made her way back to a familiar place, the watering hole where she first met Melokuhle. As she drew closer, she began to reminisce. Her heart fluttered as she remembers his warm touch and soothing voice. As she sips from the large mass of water, she notices 2 lions approaching from the distance. She quickly ducks behind a pile of brush not far from the water. As they get closer she recognizes the larger stranger. Anubis skin and yellow eyes, a masculine being. She eyed the stranger accompanying him, an older lioness with pale fur. As they talked, she noticed the lioness press her head to his. Her heart skipping a beat. Anger rushed through her like a flood, lighting a fire inside of her. It took alot for her not to lunge out of the bushes and mangle the female. Perhaps he has forgotten about her, or maybe he didn't care for her as much as she thought. She collected herself and quickly made an exit, hoping neither of them noticed she had been there.
