Physical Description
Kirunas come in many different colors, but all of them share some key attributes: Bipedal with a raptor-like stance, short fur, eyes, blood, tongues, and inside of ears all the same color, black eyes with a ring of color around the black pupil, venom and hollow canine teeth, a 'mane' of neck fur, and retractable claws.

All Kirunas have one main base color, the color of their fur, and some have markings, all of the base colors they can be are brown, light brown, sandy, white, black, dark grey, light grey.
The markings can be any of those colors or a darker shade.

Gender differences between Kirunas, they display sexual dimorphism.
Males are larger, often have longer claws, spikier fur, and fluffier manes. Males always have two dark markings on the top and bottom of their manes/necks, and tend to be stronger than females.
Females are smaller, have smoother fur, and have smaller manes. They always lack markings on their manes, and tend to be faster than males.


Lore
They were originally created in a laboratory, using a base of Dire Wolf and Velociraptor dna. The first resulting tests were mostly a failure, many died before hatching or soon afterwards. But some survived, and they were then further mutated and their genes edited. Until they were like how they are now. They were called Kirunas, and many were bred to fight in arenas for entertainment. Others were bred in laboratories for further research. Over the years, some escaped into the wild, and now there are two distinct populations, the Captive, and Feral.

Abilities
- Venom: Kirunas have long fangs on their top jaws, up to 4 inches long. They have very corrosive venom that can burn through 7 inch thick steel in a matter of minutes. They can shoot it up to 15 feet.
- Detaching limbs: All Kirunas have parts of metal on their bodies, that connect their limbs to their bodies. Ferals only have it attaching their tail, Captive have it on every limb. This allows them to detach their limbs.

Varieties
Both Captive and Feral have different attributes that they are born with.

- Spiked: Has spikes along their back, and if whip tail, all over their tail. Most common.
- Armored: Their spikes have fused into armor plates along their backs, kind-of looks like a pangolin, highly prized in the arena. Caused by a mutation, rare.

- Whip tail: Covered in spikes or armor plating, is long and slender, can be used like a whip.
- Wolf tail: Covered in fur, shorter than whip, still slender.
- Venom tail: Mostly covered in fur, near the end it has spikes that can be used as a weapon, can inject venom.

Life Cycle
Kirunas usually mate for life, and in the wild, make a network of tunnels to live in and raise their young. They mate like reptiles and have no external reproductive organs. The females lay eggs about the size of an eagle egg, all the eggs have a pattern on them that make it appear like it is a rock partially covered in moss for camouflage. The young hatch within 3-4 months, and are blind for the first 6 days. Though they have mammalian charactistics, Kirunas don't produce milk, and the hatchlings eat meat or vegetation. They become adolescents at 6 months old, and become adults at 2 years, and that is when they leave their parents' care, though in captivity, they are taken from their parents at 2 weeks. They are sexually mature at 3 years.
