After the great warrior clans of the past passed, the world of cats fell into a corrupt land of chaos. Kits being killed, elders dying of hunger. But then, two siblings were born to the she-cat Thicket, a descendant of Firestar. The two kits were named Sun and Moon, and while Sun was a bright tawny-colored cat, with large orange eyes and light orange stripes. But moon was a sleek black cat with white-purple eyes and light gray paws. Their birth was a true blessing, as their mother had grown old and did not expect to have any kits born. She nursed them in a small hollow beneath tree roots, a sheltered place away from rain, snow and other cats. The kits grew up strong and healthy, taught in the ways of the ancient warrior clans. But soon after they reached ten moons, their mother was killed by a lone fox roaming the forest. Instead of grieving their loss, the siblings trained twice as hard. When they were twelve moons old, they had a terrible fight about really nothing at all, like all truly terrible fights. This caused a rift between them, and Sun left what had been their home for his entire life. But they both had the same goal: restore the forest to what it had once been.
