Storm Pride
Name of lion:
Mavuto ; meaning "troubles, problems"
Age:
4 Years 2 Months
Preferred rank:
Scout/Hunter
Gender:
Male
Love interest:
None (PM if interested)

Background:
Mavuto and twin brother Mayeso were born into a large pride on the fringe of a lake, many miles deep into the savannah. Their birth pride honored strength and power over anything else, and cherished the ability to battle. Mavuto was born small, frail, and with an obvious deformity to his tail. These traits, combined with a very passive personality and a doting mother, led to the adolescent lion's strong moral compass and anti-fighting beliefs. Despite being in opposition to the majority of the pride's beliefs, Mavuto was well-liked and well cared for by his pride members. He was humble and calm in comparison to his brother and considerate in helping around the pride when he was allowed by their mother. Mavuto's peaceful demeanor and outward projection of his disbelief in battle did not sit well with the twins father, and months into his adolescence, the king of the pride banished the young lion from the pride.

With no knowledge on how to survive on his own and with innate clumsiness he never truly adapted to, Mavuto's first months living without a pride were unsuccessful. The sudden appearance of Mayeso on a day he was slinking around on his former pride's territory, starved and thirsty, is what saved him. His brother had come exiled after arguing with their father, the pride leader, over Mavuto's banishment. The addition of his brother to his side eased the urgency Mavuto was facing, and slowly he developed the skills he needed to hunt and live properly with the help of Mayeso.

As he grew into his adult years and out of a clumsy adolescent, Mavuto looked to find a territory to call his home. For years he and Mayeso wandered the grasslands joining small groups of other outcasts, living morning to evening trespassing into prides' homes, getting into small skirmishes and fighting for food. It was the opposite of the life he desired, and stood in opposition to what he believed. After addressing these emotional conflicts with Mayeso, the two brothers came to a large disagreement, one that led Mavuto to walk away from his brother willingly.

Alone once more, Mavuto spent his days cautiously prowling along an unknown pride's land. For weeks he managed to avoid any form of detection until he finally met the lions of Storm Pride.

Rogue
Name of lion:
Mayeso; meaning "test (from God)"
Age :
4 Years 2 Months
Gender:
Male
Love interest:
None- only interested in other males (PM if interested)

Background:
Staying true to the name his mother gave him, Mayeso was born and grew into the idealistic vision of his birth pride but with an additional personality they didn't expect. From a young age he was egocentric and pushy, preferring to ignore the guidelines his mother was laying for him and instead choosing to carve his own path within the pride. This outlandish behaviour, while looked down on by some elder members of the pride, made Mayseo stand out in the eyes of his brother and their father. Excelling at everything that was pushed his way, Mayeso ascended his way into his father's favor; choosing to ignore his brother's grievance at the time in order to indulge himself in the pride's attention.

The approval and praise Mayeso received did not last long. Following Mavuto's banishment the pride's disapproval for the way his twin brother acted, escalated to include the more confident twin's actions. Words of suspicion and conspiracy floated; the twin's mother had planned this, she was setting her son's up to overthrow their father and that's why Mayeso acted the way he did. None of the rumors were true, but in the ears of the temperamental adolescent lion who was grieving over the expulsion of his twin, Mayeso soaked every word in. Dreary day after humid night passed by with Mayeso spending his days in seclusion, drawing himself farther away from the pride with the exception of the younger adolescents and cubs; who he spent his days sparring and training against.

After months of Mayeso's anger simmering and the pride's resentment for him not fading, the young male finally took steps to righten his father's error. The argument between the two was not long, and ended with their father twisting away and telling Mayeso to go join his brother if he was so keen on creating more trouble. His father's rejection was all Mayeso needed; with the stares of the pride members following him out, the large adolescent bounded out onto the grasslands to go looking for his twin.

Growing into adulthood in small groups of other lions ostracized from their homes, Mayeso's natural tendency towards leadership shone through, along with an inclination towards thievery and the more devious side of nature. Unsettled and disagreeing often, his relationship with Mavuto grew rockier by the day. Much like how it was in their childhood in their birth pride, the small groups they traveled with looked up to Mayeso's abilities, but fawned over Mavuto's personality and his kindness.  One day when scavenging in a human territory went awry, Mavuto came to Mayeso truthfully; they needed to stop being so risky, the cons outweigh the pros and someone was going to get grievously injured. The now grown and even more cocky Mayeso refused to hear this and the twins' conversation ended in argument and with Mavuto's departure.

Comfortable in his ability to lead, Mayeso was not concerned about his brother exiting the small group they had formed. This confidence would prove misplaced, one by one and as weeks spanned, Mayeso eventually found himself alone.
