Hello there!

I've had a specific question about king retirement and I've been trying to look it up on the forums for clarification. Help chat doesn't help me much because it's rather quiet at night.

When you retire a king and you select the "Keep the appearance of the CURRENT king" option, does that overwrite the new heir's genetics?

For example, if I have currently have an Aufeis Base Queen and retire her for a stat replacer, will the stat replacer then receive all of her markings and Aufeis base or does it simply keep her look for "appearances"?

I only ask this because I know there are items like lab test frog that only work for appearances and I don't want to move forward with early retirement if I don't know what I'm doing lol.

when you retire and keep the appearance, the look stays the same and the stats, heritage, and mutation change to what he heir had!
so, you'll get an entirely new lion with those stats/heritage/mutation but with the look of your past king!
unlike the lab test frog, you cant go back and remove that stuff without getting a new heir to replace with different things
hope this helps!

Yes, it will overwrite the heir's genetics, the new king will have same markings/base/eyes/mane as the previous king, but get heir's stats, heritage, and mutation.
