I agree with Nefei - I manage to win most battles by grabbing the opponent, then Pound and Kick them - Pound has a chance to stun the enemy, so its the best move to use! Remember to alternate your attacks, if you use just 1 all the time, enemy has a higher chance to dodge it.

Always do the Rest after first move however, dont wait for it - you get back some health which helps a lot in taking the opponent down. So do the Charge - Rest - Charge, or Trample - Rest - Trample for small opponents. Dont leave Rest in the wait for later, go for it as early as you can.

Winning is party luck, I still lose about 30-40% of the battles I engage but I do manage to win more than half.

I tend to start with charging, that option often deals most dmg and has a small stun chance.

Then I try to grab and pound if possible. Grabbing has a lower succes rate but if you manage to get a hold of them, you deal a decent amount of dmg while they miss more often.

If you don't manage to grab or the enemy gets away, go for biting instead. When doing this you can also rest a turn, then charge again.
