If you have starter king stats - i.e. pretty low - the easy way to find kings that will be possible for you to beat to gain territory slots is via the Search function (Crossroads > Search). That way you can search by level - I'd stick to level 1 in your case - and then filter those results by clicking on the 'T. Stats' column heading text, which orders them by lowest total stats first. The lower they are the more chance you have to win. As you raise your own stats that will help make it easier too.

If the player you pick doesn't have the option to choose Territory in the attack dropdown on their den - just below caves - then they have already been attacked for territory today. So you just have to keep trying people until you find one with the option available.

You can also pay SB for territory slots up until 20, by clicking the little + sign beside territory number on your own den page (to the right of your king's portrait). But that gets pretty expensive whereas PvP is free, so I'd recommend sticking to mostly attacking :)

Crossroads -> Territory, there you can access accounts of players near your lion level and PVP for territory. You can get up to 40 that way. Then you have to pay GB.
