hello, i've decided to begin selling and auctioning specimens of my new species: ichiropts! below this, i will elaborate on what exactly an ichiropt is as well as display my ichiropts for sale. keep in mind, ichiropts are a CLOSED SPECIES.

ichiropts are mammals that bear a close resemblance to humans. they possess decorative flaps of skin connecting their upper thighs to the insides of their wrists— said flaps are utilized as means to glide through air and not to fly. specimens of this species typically dwell inside cave systems, within woodland and desert biomes, and atop mountains. the average male ichiropt measures at the height of 5'7", the average female being 5'8'. both sexes typically range from 55 to 68 kilograms. their lifespan, depending on environmental conditions as well as physiological traits, can range from 79 to 117 years. the name of a group of ichiropts is a tribe.

one feature unique to an ichiropt is the plate attached to their face. these plates are plain and dull at birth but, at a certain point in an ichiropt's youth, an elder in a tribe embellishes it with a pattern individual to it's bearer; these plates are used as tools for identification within a certain tribe as well as an indicator for social status.

ichiropt societies are strangely complex, demonstrating a defined caste system. two queens oversee a given tribe, assigning each to themselves two knights, four bodyguards, and four messengers. they are prohibited to marry or have more children than one, for fear that family life could distract the queens from proper rule. below the queens and their subjects are the soldiers, warriors who defend the tribe and, while they serve under the queens' command, they do not directly serve the queens themselves. beneath the soldiers are citizens, ranging from merchants to architects. citizens are respected but have no input in politics unless drafted as soldiers. finally, ground-bounds are prisoners from other tribes or criminals who do the dirty work of the tribe. their skin flaps are clipped by a queen once officially declared a ground-bound. ground-bounds most commonly serve as messengers, servants, or spies.

ichiropts have a highly developed sense of hearing; however, their sense of sight is vastly impaired in comparison. this is because ichiropts have only one eye, an organ located just below their clavicles. they breathe by passage of two small holes near the aforementioned eye. these holes are also used for consumption and for tracking scents. ichiropts have long, thick tails for balance and self-defense, as can be inferred due to the existence of spikes that fringe it. said spikes are also present on their shoulders and along their forearms. ichiropts tend to have relatively short but dense fur on their bodies as well as long and thick fur on their tails, though this can vary from region to region.
