Just to add onto this, the exception is in fact the random-1-of-4 marking apps - like the Pulsar one you mentioned. With these there is a built in safeguard where you can't get the exact same 1 of the 4 options twice in a row on the same lion - original news post explanation.

I don't think it's mentioned in the news post I linked, but it was clarified later that this ONLY applies if you haven't used another random-1-of-4 type app in the meanwhile, and it doesn't prevent you getting multiples of the same marking in later attempts if you use more than 2 of the apps. So you could get the same marking on the 1st and 3rd attempts for example, just not the 1st and 2nd.

But put simply it does mean you can't get for instance pulsar margay twice in a row if you haven't used anything else in between. If you get pulsar margay the first time, and immediately use another pulsar app on the same lion (including if you remove the pulsar margay beforehand, that's still ok!) then you can only get the 3 other possible pulsar markings on the very next attempt. It isn't possible to get pulsar margay again right away.

If that makes sense? If not I can try to explain better with examples, it is kinda complicated!

Yw! I've always found it helps to use that system to your advantage when aiming for specific markings - 1 in 3 still isn't the best odds, but it's better than 1 in 4 and every little helps with those expensive apps <3
