I was going through my Genetics textbook and got a few new ideas for mutations. I don't know how to post pictures, but you can easily look them up on Google.

My ideas are:

- Polydactyly- a mutation in which there are extra digits/fingers. In lions, this would be extra toes. I propose this as a non-lethal mutation.

- Spina Bifida- a defect in which part of the spine doesn't completely fold over to form a spinal column upon development. There are 3 types (Occult or "closed- no fluid gathered in the spinal cord, this actually refers to when the vertebrae don't fuse- is the "bony" type, myomeningocele- most severe type, part of the spinal cord is encased in visible bubble of fluid and the nerves inside are damaged, and meningocele- there is still a bubble of fluid but the spinal cord nerves are not inside.) The ending "-cele" means "fluid." Spina Bifida can cause paralysis of the lower limbs, and difficulties in occupational functioning. I propose this as a lethal mutation.

- Anencephaly- "without brain." Basically, part or all of the baby's brain is missing. Their head and skull is usually flattened and they are unresponsive at birth (aside from reflexes) if they weren't already still born. This is a "lethal early on" mutation; in fact, I propose that it be like Ichytyosis and lethal upon the cub's first RO.

- Kleinfelter syndrome- XXY. Males with this condition tend to grow breasts and have smaller privates. (Male cubs on LD can grow teats and have a smaller mane instead). I propose this as a non-lethal mutation, but males with this condition are either infertile (like pons and gons) or could have a lower # of stud slots (?)
