I agree. April Fools keep getting simplier and less fun each year - this year, there's merely letter swapping some letters to "w" in the main chat. A joke that's only really fun for native english speakers, non-english people just wont understand a thing. Its... extremely underwhelming, to say the least.

I also do understand admins are busy and all... but Id rather get 1 less decor in april shop and have some cute/funny overlay for lions instead - even if its something very simple like 1 potato image. I dont understand why april fools gets so pushed aside - because we DO get a lot of art updates for other things. There are so many cool suggestions in the forums for funny april pranks too.

when friend showed me screenshot I thought words around den were uwu-ed haha ah well. I see in other game that april fools just got... down too. still waiting for time to hit this years, but it seems to me people are each year more and more against april fools, so these pranks are getting smaller and more subtile

I haven't been here long enough to say any thing abt last April fools, but i do think the "Baby talk" is very exclusive, but my biggest gripe w it is the fake stuttering, i find it quite rude to those who actually have stutters they cant control?? maybe im reading too much into it but the fact that it's "funny" bc theres a stutter doesn't sit too well with me, its very mocking. ://

ashfur, I agree about it not being fun and sounding like mocking certain people. As someone non-english I am always worried about making typos, if I make one it always makes me feel ashamed, and this "joke" overall gives an unpleasant feel. I am certainly not going to post in Main chat with it on.

Man… I usually miss April 1 here, so I’ve only seen screenshots of the silliness. I was so excited to be here for it for once, and was disappointed that my lions seemed normal. And I was confused seeing the “turn off April Fools” toggle when nothing was happening?

But it’s chat, huh? I have that off since I generally don’t like it to say the least. :/ Oh well, this isn’t the only site I’m on that celebrates April Fool’s.

I was trying to find a suggestion form but -

I hate this event with the chat. I don’t mean to throw words around but I think it’s really shitty and a little ableist to not have a way to fully turn it off. I can’t read the chat like this and it makes it impossible to read the sales chat. There should be a way to turn it off that reverts everything to normal for that user like they do with events where you can make it so you don’t see anything event related.
I have bad eyesight and this makes it impossible to read.
Like sorry to be a wet blanket - but I hate this. I can’t believe that this would make any new users want to stay either :/

I am non english speaking and have issues with reading so this April isnt much fun. I think I would rather see something the older April fools. Call me sensitive but my sibling has a stutter so Im not finding the joking stutter that funny either.

I honestly have an issue with it as well - the whole 'baby talk' or whatever it is meant to be is rather annoying, and when I brought up how I disliked it and it was making me want to stay off the site for the day (since I look at chat and often post there) someone basically said "oh well, its just a little box in the corner that you can ignore). It took me a little bit to even find the disable button, and even then it only disabled my posts from ending up like that. I still have to deal with looking at the other player's messages like that in chat - even if I don't want to see it.

I usually am not online on April Fool's, but the ones I remember were the funky decors and stuff like that. I feel like the whole "lets mess with the chat box and make all the posts in every chat this 'baby talk' for the day" is taking the easy way out for the day. I'm not a huge fan of April Fool's in general, but at least if you disabled the stuff for April Fool's in the past it disabled it across the site - this year's doesn't do that.

It would be one thing if it was limited to just main chat - but its a complete and utter nuisance to add it to sales chat as well. It ruins peoples ads and makes them hard to understand. Its not that funny to me either, considering points others have made - dyslexic people and non-native English speakers potentially struggling to understand what's being said. Heck I'm a native English speaker and I can't understand what's being said.

I think people are just kinda depressed and worn out this year. I sure know I am. Thanks for pointing out what the prank was, I wouldn't have noticed it since I don't chat.
