I have an idea about the new Howlite base that I shared a little about in one of other the Chatter topics but…

There’s a few things I see a good number of people are upset about:
- The event market crash from the imbalance in explore
- The lack of variety in new bases
- The underwhelming Howlite base

I was thinking an alternate Howlite base might help all those.

The Cream Howlite base looks more like Magnesite. Magnesite occurs in a variety of colors which can commonly include brown. It’s often mistaken for Howlite since they look so similar.

Howlite glows brown under fluorescent light whereas Magnesite glows green/blue. But under normal light conditions, Howlite is most often white/gray and Magnesite can vary.

Changing the current cream Howlite base to “Flourescent Howlite” or “Magnesite” could be a good solution to appease us gem buffs and the players dying for variety in Cream bases. For this, the color scheme of the current Howlite gems in circulation could be altered to reflect the cream/brown. It would not require changing colors of lions who have already had the applicator used.

This could give the opportunity to add a second base like pictured (simply using a different color balance of the current Howlite base). This Black base could be the new “Howlite”, or “Fluorescent Magnesite”. Adding this will also appease the gem buffs, and the players who want more black base variation, without disappointing the Cream Clan.

How does this fix the market?

Applicators this year have been highly devalued. By adding the new black base Howlite/Fluorescent Magnesite craftable with a “new” gem, and adjusting drop rates of said gem, there could still be a valuable and achievable base app for everyone despite their preferences.
