Hi! I’m like 5 days old on this game and working my way up. I think? Probably not, to be honest lol. I was about to make a brand new lion with GB and realized I might be wasting the GB because I don’t really know what I’m doing. What’s a hybrid? How do I get mutations? Ugh… I know nothing lol. Adopt me?

Sure, I can adopt you! You can message me whenever you’d like! To answer your questions:

What’s a hybrid?
They’re a type of mutation. Hybrids are either Leopons (Lion and leopard) or Tigons (Lion and Tiger). They’re incredibly rare to randomly show up (with no hybrid parents). Leopons and Tigons only pass if the mother is also a hybrid. They don’t pass through fathers and they can only breed to lionesses with Goddess fertility (basically 100% fertility). The chance to get a random 1st generation hybrid is EXTREMELY low, even with items to boost your chances. (You may ask, how would a 1st gen show up if neither parent is a hybrid? There’s flavor text that explains that your lioness snuck off and mated with another breed! )

How do you get mutations?

There are multiple ways! The easy way: buying them from Trading Center or being lucky with claiming a cub from the Giving Tree.
The harder way: breeding your own! Lower fertility lionesses have a slightly higher chance at giving birth to mutated cubs. There are also breeding items you can purchase to make your chances greater! There is Cotton Root Bark (CRB), Lion Meat, and GMO Cow (not to be confused with GMO chicken). Cotton root bark increases your chances a little, as well as increasing the chance of getting a lethal mutation. I’d say it works about 1 out of 5 times in my experience. Lion Meat gives you bigger chance at getting mutated cubs. And GMO Cows greatly increase your chances. You can buy CRB in Oasis for 1 GB. You can get lion meat as a reward for completing the snake quest of claiming 50 lionesses, you can also get it from the Gorilla Enclave if you have enough Monkey Teeth, and you can also buy it from TC/Branches. GMO Cows are out of season, meaning they’re only sold in a specific event (in September) but you can still buy them from TC/Branches as well (they’re quite expensive right now though). Don’t get bummed if you use these items and you don’t seem to get any mutated cubs! Use the Falcon’s Eye in the Scrying Stone in Crossroads to double check and see if your cub has an Adult Mutation (meaning it will only be visible once they become an adult).

Hope this helped! Sorry if that was long, I’m just detail oriented
