Deaf should not be lethal. Lions have an extreme sense of smell, and although it might be rough, a deaf lion could survive in the wild, probably better then a blind one could.

Well, true, a deaf lion could survive in the wild. Emphasis on the word "could". Also, since when was deaf a lethal?

deaf is absolutely a lethal mutation? i have one, and it killed her at a few months old. it's currently the only late/adult lethal mutation, but it Will kill them anywhere between 4 months and 4 years old. there's more info on the wiki about it.

unfortunately no support for me from this one, but only because i think blind/eyeless should also probably be lethal in the context of wild animal lions and avoiding danger. there's only so much a sense of smell can do, unfortunately- like if a predator is upwind, or maybe a hazard like a cliff.

iirc, in game blind came first and deaf was added later, so changing them now is probably too much of a pain in the ass either way.

I've always thought it was weird that deaf is lethal but blind, eyeless, clawless, and toothless aren't. Either they should all be lethal or they should all not be lethal.

On that note, it's also weird that lions supposedly born blind have clouded eyes, when in real life they look mostly normal. "Blind-looking" eyes only happen if something like cataracts, glaucoma, or injury occurs. Otherwise, the only noticeable difference is super dilated pupils.

Examples of domestic cats who were born blind (third one is half-blind):

Kit voiced my thoughts on deaf being lethal and blind/eyeless/etc isn't lethal at the same time, kinda support but at the same time we should still have adult lethals
