I'm not really sure what you mean by "temples", but most lionesses in explore are gonna be plain. You can find Chased lionesses - lionesses that another player chased out of their own pride - once your king reaches "Impressive" on the impression level iirc. It's a low chance that slightly increases up until you hit "Dreamboat" which is the max.

Could be an item from the June event? There are 3 temples, one for each god you can align your account with.
