I had the idea of a lethal mutation, mouthless, the cub doesn’t have a mouth so maybe it would die the next rollover?

I *think* this might fall under the already existing/approved mutation called Cebocephaly where the face is deformed to the point they cannot eat or see.

Though technically, Cleft Palate would also fall into the category - can't eat without aspirating, so it dies.

I also cannot find any real life examples of "mouthless" as the mouth forms very early in embryonic development - for example in humans between the 5th and 12th week of gestation. I'd be interested to see any real life examples you may have (that aren't from movies).

What would this bring to the game that differentiates it from Cleft Palate other than an overlay art that means more work for the artists? Or that could be achieved by a custom decor if you wanted it for lore purposes?

First support.

Actually this one may just be the newborn art ( with the eyes open ) but without a mouth

Plus, cleft clearly has a mouth! And Cebocephaly does have a mouth ( I think ) but it is very deformed and such.

Where are the real life examples? Again, the mouth is one of the first things that develops in utero because of how the faces form.

It's still a verily believable mut, albeit maybe not existent.

after the utero develops the mouth, it could probably easily be sewn up and covered by skin because the fetus is always growing.

I learned biology once, and it might have been just a dumb take
