The following historical lore is for my custom world called Paxterra! There is a race of humanoid animalistic creatures (much like "catgirls" are from anime or wolf-boys) called Beastlings.



Beastlings were categorized into two primary subtypes: the "Veri" (true, Vesis) and the "Quasi" (partial morphs, Quasis). Veris were considered the more dominant and fearsome subtype due to their ability to shift into full animal forms. They possessed primal instincts, survivability, and a strong connection to the wild. In contrast, Quasis had only partial animal traits, with few animalistic features and no ability to transform completely into animals.

The tension between the two subtypes gave rise to a destructive conflict known as the "Great Loss." The Great Loss marked a devastating war between them that tore their society apart. This conflict paved the way for the emergence of the human revolution, which aimed to establish human dominance over Paxterra.

As the Beastlings were embroiled in their own war, humans targeted them, viewing them as a distraction and as part-human, making them susceptible to human weaknesses. The human revolution aimed to eradicate all creatures they had deemed as supernatural from Paxterra, leading to widespread destruction and the eventual disappearance of races from their lands.

However, thousands of years later, human scientists discovered the remnants of the Beastlings' lands, leading to a project focused on uncovering the history of these ancient civilizations and the potential for their revival. Through advanced genetic experimentation, scientists developed a method to insert Beastling DNA into fertilized eggs and grow new beings. These beings are called Hybrids due to their hybridic heritage of Beastling and Human.

The creation of hybrids marked the return of Beastlings to Paxterra, albeit in a different form. Sadly, these new beings were seen as both slave material and war machines by humans. They were enslaved, forced to serve their human masters, and utilized for military purposes.

The reformation event eventually led to the abolition of slavery, but the vestiges of prejudice and discrimination lingered. While slavery was outlawed, hybrid rights remained limited, with major cities off-limits to them and positions of power reserved for humans.

The legacy of the Great Loss, the emergence of hybrids, and the ongoing societal divisions between humans and hybrids define the complex and multifaceted world of Paxterra. It is a realm where characters can engage in compelling stories that revolve around themes of prejudice, discrimination, equality, and the struggle for a better future.
