The title character limit got me again! I have 2 bones to pick with the current way Ochre Gnawrocks are when it comes to sending (or receiving) stud requests:

Slot 1 (or the stud's lowest slot marking) is pre-selected on the list of stud items.

This bad boy right here is what inspired me to make this suggestion. It's super wack! For such an expensive (and popular) breeding item, it sure is easy to fuck up using it. I like to say I'm a careful person, but I've certainly been a bit too tired when sending out stud requests in the morning. I'd wager I'm not the only one who has made breeding item mistakes that could've been avoided just by reading and double checking before sending the stud requests. Especially when there are a lot to send!

I think that making the marking dropdown list blank initially and "forcing" players to select their desired marking would be better overall. The only error at that point would be misclicking, but adding the more conscious decision of actually selecting the marking could encourage a bit more double checking.


The stud doesn't get to see what marking people are using the gnaw on.

Some studs don't allow the use of gnawrocks for a certain slot on their lion. Fair enough, it was probably hard to breed! However, if you'd like to use a gnawrock to pass one of their other markings, you can say so in the request message and they may accept. But I wouldn't be surprised if someone skirted another player's rules, saying for example that they used the gnaw for slot 7 (but actually applied it to the forbidden, rare slot 6 rosette or something). The stud can't check before accepting the request, though they can check once the lioness is pregnant. Which is kind of too late lol.

Even studs without item restrictions could benefit from being able to see which slot it is being used on. I'd LOVE to be able to see if someone possibly made a mistake and used their gnaw on an obviously incorrect marking so that I can reach out to them before accepting the request, just in case they did in fact choose the marking they wanted.
