I discord would be amazing, easy to communicate with other players who may know more information about the weeks quest or other things I may not know yet! 😊

Im going to agree that a discord would be a good idea, however considering other clan discords and how they are run, there will need to be a lot ot heavy, extensive work put into making the server work and having a safe, welcoming community.

Not only can a discord be used as a main hub for easy updates without having to rollover/login to lioden, it also provides a place of chatter and somewhere for staff to talk to members without also being limited by their ability to rollover at times. It would be a far quicker, and immediate, form of contact but as with LD not every member reads the messages. This is fine, but it can be a bit frustrating.

one of the most important things when it comes to a discord is being able to keep it active. dawn of the first gens was an extremely active server, but has died down a lot lately [reasonably so] and it would be nice to see it spark up a bit again. Activity is something that only the members are responsible for, and as the owners/staff you are responsible for offering engagement opportunities. This also addresses the fact of chat moderation; I would recommend having all LD rules followed, or at least the major ones e.g no politics, no foul language [slurs, direct swears, etc.], no begging, and obviously strict behavioural rules.

Another issue is the age-appropriate conversations for adults v minors to have. No one wants to hear about someone's brother being a sex-machine, or about their own sexual experiences/kinks/fetishes. I see too much of it in main chat and it makes the community around them extremely uncomfortable and I personally would vouch for this to be heavily disallowed in a community, especially considering most of these kinds of people mentioned are minors being mentioned to adults which is just.. well it's vile between minors, and directly towards adults. It's just not something you tell strangers, or anyone who isn't comfortable with it.

It is also extremely important to explain to your community why something isn't allowed, or why you are unable to do something for whatever reason, e.g add a channel, host a game night, why certain names for mutations [such as dwarves being called beans, which I have been told a lot of dwarves themselves find it offensive, however this doesn't go for the entirety of the dwarf community] aren't allowed to be used for whatever reason, etc. Communication is key, and having a calm voice and upmost control even in a stressful situation is absolutely vital. I will always support the idea of allowing another staff member to take over an interaction, even if you are the owner. Everyone needs a break sometimes, and it's better to rely on them [as you have been] than to react wrongly under pressure.

these are just a few things to think about, however some you may not agree with and that's okay. I do still support the idea of a discord however as i'm personally becoming less available via lioden [and wolvden sometimes...] and would still love to hear about new events, etc. and actually be able to interact despite whatever issues I may be having irl.

I really appreciate the thoughts, it is definitely being considered but recently I’ve had DSR to much going on within my own life to keep up with lioden alone, if the clan is still strong and active it is planned that the discord will not come for 1 year- 6months as there’s so much to do to make sure the discord is a safe space for everyone. But I really appreciate comments.
