The only reason I'm choosing not to support is because I think the dev team has already shot down the idea of the sub-males having cubs. Or bringing home anything that isn't items (food/decor/etc.).

But also while I am a sucker for the hybrids, I do prefer our prides not having tigers or leopards as parts of the pride tbh. Plus along with the Liger, there would have to be art for the Tigress as well, nested and not. And then the same would apply for Lipards, and the leopardess.
What would determine you get the Tigress? Would it be an event that you get the chance of being selected for? Like the raffles. Or is it just a random chance in general that can strike any time (similar to the random Neopet encounters for example). Mutations born by lionesses get the chance rolled as soon as she's pregnant I think, so I'd wonder what factor goes into an account suddenly acquiring a pregnant tigress as described it feels too much like the Neopet Random Events for me right now. Which isn't to say it couldn't work, it just wouldn't be something that would sit with me y'know?

Now if I did ever support Ligers or even Lipards, I would do it more of a "NCL" chance during one month special. But make it a very very rare encounter to find one of them. Or even a Groupie type thing where a one in so many chances has a potential of the Groupie being a hybrid. But even then its still an ehhh for me. As there's currently two more hybrids that can be a thing with a lioness parent (with Jaguar and Snow Leopard if they decide that route).

Preferably I'd like a Liger decor item since we do have Lipard decor, or even an encounter with a Tigress (and Liger cub or not) out in explore.
But overall, gonna say Nay on this due to feeling too much of a random event, and also Devs already saying no to studding of Sub Males, which I imagine carries over to them having cubs in general until they're kinged. Only way I'd be ok with a Liger or Lipard being actual members of the Pride is what I described above wherein they're NCL/Groupie type events, which I guess is still rare and random, but it's still something I could be ok with.

Though if they did exist I'm sure I could accept it eventually even if it isn't a very rare special NCL or Groupe. Just not in the Tigress Joins the Pride type event for me.

Ashkarn is a the Tiger NPC (Xylax's King) who is the sire of every first gen tigon barring Raffle Tigons.

I think it could be interesting to have a female Tigress NPC who has a chance of producing a Liger with a King from the site. Maybe, the Weekly Lioness could be substituted at random for a female tiger NPC and whoever won her would get a guaranteed first gen liger cub instead of getting the Tigress.

Could be implemented easily enough I think.

Actually Jaxte has a good idea- since we can now do reverse breedings then I think maybe just maybe it could be a thing one day. Or done in a way where I could be ok with it lol. With it being a raffle lioness substitute too, just very rare (maybe once every couple months at random).
Now I'm just imagining the Ashkarn NPC Pride where it's just a bunch of panthera cats lol. Tiger, Tigress, Leopard, Leopardess, Jaguar, Juguaress, etc.
All of them the parents of hypothetical hybrids born across the site lol.

How would ligers be physically different enough from tigons to be a visually distinct mutation? There is a size difference, but lion size doesn't show up all that well ingame- there's a size chart of regular lions vs all the variants of primal floating around somewhere that shows the basic primal as being huge compared to a nonmutated adult male lion but it doesn't translate well into the individual lion pages. Mechanics of a new hybrid are one thing but what's the point of having another set of lines that likely would seem like differently-posed tigons?

Ligers have a pretty robust build and more prominent mane than the leopon or tigon. Low hanging belly skin and the head stripes / body spots combination.

They are much more impressive than tigons. Their size could be represented by taking up a good portion of the image box vs any other type of lion barring maybe Primals.

Ligers as a concept are just more appealing to Tigons anyway. And if you ask me, the method staff chose to introduce Tigons into the game was a bad idea and immediately tanked their value relative to the much older Leopon. We shouldn't go that route again. We literally had 100 first gens before October was out.

The size difference will not show up in actual gameplay at all, I promise- basic primals are massive compared to regular lions and the size difference is just not that apparent :'D




Imo the other differences are too slight to really stand out either (+ in that pic it seems like the tigon has the more prominent mane?) Coloration & pattern could be added as a new base and mark as a compromise? Otherwise, besides the name, I just don't think there would be enough of a difference between the two muts if both existed ingame, idk

If the devs don't want sub male breeding then maybe a liger cub could have unknown parents and is found by the main male or sub male with the same chance as a pon or gon in explore or patrol with both of the parents unknown? A bit like with a NCL but a cub. Maybe a short message story line thingy of another male lion breeding with an escaped siberian tiger and the tiger died from birth complications since Ligon cubs are usually too big for a tigress to birth normally and out of the goodness of your heart you adopt the cub and the cub could either be a newborn put with the normal cubs or already the age of a cub finished weaning idk 😔
