Name/Nickname: Lilibet Halkshmi

Gender, Sexuality: She/her - straight

Age: 124 (around 23 in human years). Mutants like her tend to live to about 600

Family: She has a mother who lives in the inner city, while Lilibet resides on the coast.

Personality:


Abilities: She is able to open gateway portals in order to teleport around. This can only occur around a 1 mile radius, but it’s useful to get into and out of situations quickly and efficiently. Another small perk of hers is that she can breathe underwater for much longer than any normal person. She trains her lung capacity everyday, but so far she can stay under for on average 30 minutes- give or take. The only drawback to this is that whilst underwater she has to be in complete focus- so if she is forcefully dragged underwater and struggling to get out, her breath capacity will reduce to about 5 minutes and less.

Rank/Job: She is a sushi bar manager by day / burlesque-style club owner and performer by night. By day, she is behind a desk mostly- making sure the flow of sushi ingredients and general restaurant resources run smoothly. She doesn’t particularly like this aspect of her day job, but she does enjoy other aspects of the job that she has to do including dealing with rude customers and catching her own ingredients for her restaurant whilst diving. At night, she is a singer and performer in her own club. This is where most of her revenue comes from. Her creative side is on full display here as she comes up with her own setups and props for each event- something she very much enjoys.

Backstory:
Growing up, she has always lived on the poorer side of the city with her mother. Her father was a fisherman who frequently took Lilibet on boat journeys when she was little. Her father used to own a failing beachside restaurant, which was unfairly taken away from him by the government on unjustifiable grounds. With no job, the already struggling family were thrown into poverty. When food was short, Lilibet’s father would sail out for weeks at a time to fish in order to provide an income for his beloved family. Each time he returned with feeble scraps, his once joyous personality would become bitter and aggressive, often lashing out when spoken to. One day Lilibet watched as he sailed away from his family for the last time.
Lilibet’s mother, with a clouded judgement from grief of being abandoned, sent her daughter deep into the throes of education- with very high expectations. She believed that, if Lilibet worked hard enough, she would get a life that her mother and father never had. This created a wedge between their relationship at an early stage of Lilibet’s life due to her mother hyper-criticising her achievements. Every day on her walk to school, she would walk past her father’s old restaurant; beaten down and rotting. She vowed that, one day, that restaurant would be hers.
After getting her education, she got a part-time job and saved up her pennies in order to buy back her father’s legacy. Due to her mother’s disapproval of a career in service, she kept her saving a secret from her mother. When she finally had enough to buy the land, her mother lashed out at her, imploring why on Earth she would be saving money for a dream so ridiculous instead of using it to support her own mother when she really needed it. After a great deal of arguing, Lilibet finally decided to move into the dishevelled area- cutting pretty much all ties with her mother. It took around 20 years of DIY and scavenging for materials in order to renovate the place. During that time, Lilibet sold homemade and self-caught sushi at a nearby flea market for an extra flow of income.
