Hey y'all! I just had a cub born who is a step forward in some ways and a step back in others. My current project king has the base, eyes, skin, mane type and color, and 2 BO marks. The new cub has the base, mane type and color, and 4 BO marks, but lacks the eyes and skin.

I do have a decent amount of the eyes and skin, especially eyes, within my pride. I'm not sure whether it would be wiser to heir-replace my king with this new cub or continue with my current king. I like that my king has all of the BO traits and it would be annoying to have to get those back lol but this cub is such a huge step markings-wise (and this base has been so annoying to pass!) that I'm struggling with deciding what is best for my project. Please let me know what you all think!!

The other option, of course, is to use the new cub as a breeder and always throw opal saltlicks and rock salts at her
