sorry if this has been posted before - i tried to look and didn't find it so i don't think it has been, but correct me if i'm wrong please!

so, the issue is simple. people can submit used items to purchase raffle tickets, and i don't think they should be able to.

for example, if someone makes a raffle that accepts white lion pelts (standard 20 uses) as a ticket option, then why can someone submit a white lion pelt with only 1 use remaining as a ticket? depending on the purpose of the raffle, such as if it's for nesting material, this 1 use item would be useless to them. this also applies to all other multi-use items that can be taken as raffle tickets such as: meat pies, feathers, skulls, nesting material/abandoned nests, etc.

i think it's unfair that used items can be put in as tickets. i think it should be changed so that only items with their full uses can be used to purchase a ticket. bringing back my earlier example, you should only be able to buy a ticket with a white lion pelt that has its original 20 uses remaining, not 19, not 10, not 1. only if it has 20.
edit: suggestion by Myriad (#76) - this option (to enable full use items only) should be toggleable as they pointed out that sometimes the uses of an item doesn't matter. so, i think it should be an option when making a raffle, similar to how we can pick trade buyouts to be both or either currency, we should be able to pick whether item tickets do or do not need the item to be at full uses to be submitted.

this would be very helpful for people who run raffles for amusement items or nesting materials, only to find that all of the many tickets they got only have 1 use left and aren't actually valuable to them - especially since you can't see how many uses an item ticket has until the raffle ends and you get the item in your hoard.

This suggestion has 10 supports and 0 NO supports.

I think it might need to be somehow optional, to please everyone. Because in some instances a lots of players wouldn’t care at all how many uses stuff has left (e.g. bulk herbs for crafting apps, bulk feathers for crafting decors, etc). Just depends on the item/situation :)

i didn't think of that before, that's a valid point. would you mind if i added that into the post (to make it toggleable)?

I agree. I once ran a raffle and got something like 50 white lion pelts all with 1-2 uses.

But I also understand why people might be against the idea. It might be a lot of work for a pretty specific thing, and it's ultimately up to the person holding the raffle if they want to take the risk or not. Still, this would be nice

i've had that exact thing happen to me with lion pelts, and it's what got me thinking about this in the first place and to make this suggestion. i did a raffle to get material for nests, and ended up with way less than i thought i'd get because the pelts & herbs were partly used already.
i think having it as an option would be beneficial and i don't imagine it being very code-heavy? i'm not much of a coder myself and i don't know the intricacies of lioden's code but it seems like it'd be rather easy to just put in a clause that can be enabled/disabled by the creator of the raffle.

That sucks!

And you're probably right, it most likely wouldn't be that difficult to do.
