It is probably already suggested somewhere ^^

But why not getting a health status for your lions?

Starving
-ou get the starving status when you have less then 60% hunger (<60%)

- Effects
--- Your male lion doesn't gain it's energy so fast (like it currently is)
--- Your females loos their mood faster
--- nursing cubs don't get enough food, resulting in that they also lose hunger %. You get the risk they get sick

- Solution
--- feeding your lion/lioness. when the female is fed, the cubs get enough/more food the next day

----------

Parasites
Little bigs all over you. bad looking and they itch!!

- effects
--- negative moodlet on your lions impression, even when you are dreamboat. no lioness shall pick a lion filled with bugs!!
--- negative moodlet for your lioness, resulting in lower success change during hunts
--- There is 5% change other lions get parasites if not treated

- solution
--- grooming (interaction option)
--- buy an item for SB in the Monkey Business! (sort of flower maybe?)

----------

Wounded
Your lion is wounded.

- effects
--- negative moodlet for your lion. He can not explore with that wounded leg. Submale's can not explore.
--- negative moodlet for your lioness. She can not go on hunting
--- negative moodlet for your cubs. They can not play (and so not gaining skills)

- solution
--- wounds heal automaticly within 1 - 5 days
--- buy an item for SB in the Monkey Business for direct healing

----------

Sickness/illness
feeling sick, no fun

- effects
--- negative moodlet for your lion. it's hard to find stuff during exploring. You lose energy faster and there is a higher change you lose in battles (both Pvp as NPC)
--- negative moodlet for your lioness. lower success rate to catch something during hunting.
--- negative moodlet for your cubs. they are not in the mood to play. There is a small change (1-5%) to get smaller litters or stillborn cubs. breeding success rate also drops
--- there is 5% change other lions become sick when you don't heal them.

- solution
--- sickness goes over within 3 - 7 days
--- buy an item for SB in the Monkey Business for direct healing

X------------X------------X------------X
F.A.Q

Do we need to check our lions each day to see if something is wrong?
no, just for starvation as you have the hunger bar on the profile.
Though when your lion/lioness get sick or wounded, you should get a message with
'??? got sick/wounded'

But what if 5 of my lionesses get sick at the time?
small inbox overload ^^;
or when multiple lionesses get the same status (sick or wounded), they can be included in the same message.

You could also have ailments that reset the breeding cycle (IE she was a day from heat or in heat; she got sick and now she's 8 days away from heat)

How about if a lioness is left starving she gets a 'starving' status, loses health steadily and will die if not fed. Any cubs that she is nursing have a high chance of also dying and if she is pregnant there is a high chance the cubs will be stillborn.

Duskin if a lioness is left starving there is a chance she may already run away and if she's pregant and left starving there is a chance that she will miscarry.

I knew they could run away, thought I didn't knew they could get a miscarry :)

Apperantly, that code is either a bit broken or is not enforced properly. I've seen tons of hungry/moody lionesses out there but I've yet to see one wander away or misscarry because of it.

I support the idea in general, but we were promised some major hunting and fighting revamps soon. Thus I'll hold off on brainstorming about this further until we see what, exactly, will those 'hunting improvements' actually be.

I suspect that for one, we'll *finally* see the stats and levels come into pplay but who knows? Maybe some sort of injuries will be brough in as well?

Parasitism might an interesting one. If it affects your male it could affect his ability to impress females while he's suffering from it. As for females it could decrease their ability to hunt well.

Starving already affects males by decreasing the energy regeneration

Sick or Wounded on your male could decrease the HP hit bar that you have when fighting in NPC battles (or increase the energy requirements when exploring/fighting/ect)

If the variable breeding success rate idea comes into effect; health statuses could decrease the success rate.

Support. I agree with what has been said so far. This is a great idea and I would love to see this input into the game.

100% Support! I'm kind of surprised this hasn't already been put in place. I think wounded status or parasites give a lot of opportunities to add some challenge to gameplay without it affecting it too much and it could give opportunity to raise GBs for the site (cures or preventative items).

Shambe; none of the cures should be GB; we have plenty of GB items, what we need are SB items
