----- Shaba - "Solemn Oath" ~ Head Huntress Mother to Cherika, Hiou ----- Shaba came to the pride as a foreigner. Being a fairly laid back group, the Konig Pride welcomed the stranger. The Konig Pride was one known for accepting loners, this especially due to their age old tradition of the next leader never being the son or daughter of the previous. King Mahiri welcomed new blood into his Pride. Shaba's easy going nature and general friendliness meant her integration into the pride was perfectly smooth. Not only did her personality mesh well into the pride, she proved to be a more than worthwhile asset. Determined to make herself useful, Shaba excelled at all aspects of the hunt. Even when King Mahiri became infatuated with the lioness, there was no complaint amongst the pridesisters. Rather than make the lioness his mate, Mahiri proposed a different plan. Should Shaba ever bear cubs, they would become his heirs. And thus, Cherika and Hiou were born.
