Biography
Means "Born on Tuesday" in Amheric. ~The first cub I ever bred!~
Mother: Abeni http://www.lioden.com/territory_lion.php?id=313278
Father: Boipelo http://www.lioden.com/dynasty.php?id=6271

Abena is very proud of her title as Princess. Not only is she a royal, but she is Boipelo's first born cub. She has a strong bond with both of her parents, and will gladly take on the responsibilities of a Princess when she comes of age. She also *adores* her little half-sister, Afua.

Abena was forever scarred when Afua died on her watch. Being four months older, she felt it was her responsibility to look out for her half-sister. She now wears the Vulturine Gunieafowl feather in Afua's memory, as her half-sister always adored the pretty blue birds. The Nyala calf that accompanies her is one she has known since she was young, and she cherishes her as a friend. In her half-sister's honor, she has decided to name her Nyala "Afua".

Abena decided to return Bright Sun's kindness to her father by carrying his cubs for her first litter. Abeni is incredibly excited to become a grandmother, and cannot wait for the cubs to show their talents. Abena loves being a mother, and is thrilled that her choice pleased her father. She is very proud of her Abimbola.

Abena is ten years old soon, but it seems the death of her half-sister Afua was only yesterday, and not eight and a half years ago. Aunt Aberash has been gone for nearly six years, as well, and she is still missed. Even Abimbola is a full-fledged adult, going on hunts with her, her mother, aunt and cousin every day. Abena's newest little cub, Jia, is learning much, and bonding with Abeni II and Finale, which is good since they will grow up together. But Abena knows in her heart that her mother has not long to live, and her father not far behind. She hopes she will still be able to bear cubs when James takes over, but if she cannot, it will not be her fault. She will become Queen, at least for a short time before her death, and after that James can have whoever he wants as Queen, or even multiple Queens, if he chooses one of his choice and either Abimbola or Jia. But whatever he does, Abena will make sure she does all she can to keep her family's legacy living on, and watch over her Naomi Pride long after she's joined the stars.

12/14/14
Abena is herself just over eleven years of age, but she still feels helpless as she sits by and watches her mother die. She cries and wails, begging Abeni not to leave her alone. It is very childish, yes, but she has always had her mother there with her. Always.
And now she's gone. And all that's left of the original Naomis are her father, Boipelo, herself, and auntie Lesedi. And Lesedi will die soon, as well. So as the moon rises, Abena knows she must compose herself, and take over her mother's throne. She claims the title of Queen, declared by her father, in front of the whole pride. Her mother's Angola White Ladies seem to make it official, by leaving Abeni's body and resting on Abena herself. The Pride chants her name, and she has to hold back her tears as she noses her father, then faces them. "Long Live Queen Abena!! Long Live Queen Abena!!!"

2/24/15
Abena lays in the same place her mother did four years ago, her breath ragged as she drew her last. Defi, Rosali and Jia were all around her, as well as cousin Amara and eldest daughter Abimbola. James, too, was there, chuffing worriedly for his Queen. She had shooed off Jocelyn; she knew there was no saving her now. Her time had come, and finally she would join her mother, father, aunt, and her beloved half-sister Afua who had died fourteen years ago.
As her amber eyes closed for the last time, the second blood Queen of the Naomi pride dies, and the Angola White Ladies float around the den, unsure of who to join next.
