Pembe Kivuli culture is a long lesson in deceiving appearances and living contradictions, and Mazishi was perhaps the perfect example of that. She would give the shawl off her back to a pridemate in need, and showered sympathy on orphaned and injured animals despite the pride's fearsome reputation. She was also personally responsible for the death of many insurgents and prideland intruders. She nursed injured calves and raised orphan cubs, teaching them how to deceive and lure intruders deep into the territory where they could be ambushed and dispatched quickly. She had a kind, warm heart that lead to her being surrounded by allies of many different species, and together, they protected the pride's secret against all manner of enemies.

When Kamata brought back a strange adolescent to the pride and asked their opinion on if the stranger should be able to stay, Mazishi was the one who volunteered to sponsored the nameless teen. She was ultimately the reason that Sijui, the future king, was accepted by the rest of the pride.

In the tales that her descendants tell, Mazishi is painted as a figure who would kindly handle villainous invaders or stubborn pridemates, while cleverly turning the situation against them so that she always holds the upper paw. Sometimes, she's used as a hero to teach the value of networking and compassion- though this is much rarer, as the Pembe Kivuli pride is very distrusting of strangers and doesn't usually value blind compassion.
