Meaning "Red." As fiery as her fur color. Poda hoped that her daughter would inherit her position as shaman, but Ekundu is so independent and bold that she was quickly dismissed from the role. Ekundu is a rebel--loud, sassy, fierce. When the pride hunts as a team, she goes her own way, and, surprisingly, usually retrieves good portions of food for the pride on her own. The pride doesn't like her personality, as they fear it will attract Kushinda's attention and bring swift consequences. However, if Kushinda does notice something, Ekundu quickly voices her opinion. Out of all the cubs Poda has bore, she is the most disappointed in Ekundu and her "different" personality and quirks, leaving her to herself as soon as she turns into an adolescent. Heartbroken and furious, Ekundu's personality only grows bolder and more bitter. Her only solace is away from the pride and teaching Haki, Nguvu, and Ubani the tricks of the trade for having fun. If she can't have it, she says, what's so bad about giving it to another?
